Do I not have the Maschine mk3 software? I just bought a Mk3 and the license transferred but its seeming like I don't have the proper software (up to date)?
if you brought it second hand , it would only come with maschine 3 , if the original owner brought the upgrade and transferred it to you , with the mk3 and v2
It could be that the original owner didn’t upgrade or they did and kept it because they had another v2 license
What did the seller say ?

Unless that you already had the "Maschine 2 for Maschine MK3" before then that means that you got the "Maschine 2 for Maschine MK3" with your present Maschine MK3 HW unit.
Ergo , then no ! you only got the Maschine 2 software with your MK3 unit and the upgrade to Maschine 3 software is a paid update.
To me at a glance then it looks like you got what you should and that your Maschine controller only came with the MK2 software (but what do I know ?) , but in case that you have any problems with your device transfer or you think that you did not get the software that you are entitled to then you would have to ask N.I. Support
Please notice that when you contact NI support then you will receive an AI auto-response and it is important that you answer this response to let NI know that you still need their assistance. This is also valid in general , if you have a support ticket with NI then always respond to their emails as long as that you still need help , else the ticket will close.

There is a second case to get a second hand unit with Maschine 3 software: Since release of Maschine 3 software new units were delivered with Maschine 3 software. If you get one of these units second hand they will of course contain a Maschine 3 licence. But there will be no Maschine 2 licence in these cases.
But in this case it seems to be an unit which was manufactured before Maschine 3 software.
@Ashvan You still can get the Maschine 3 software upgrade though. But Maschine Mk3 hardware also still works with Maschine 2 software.
You have to distinguish between Maschine Mk3 hardware and Maschine 3 (without Mk!) software. Maschine Mk3 (and also Maschine Mikro Mk3) originally were delivered with Maschine 2 software. Only later units came with Maschine 3 software from factory.

Please notice that Maschine 2 software is not officially supported from MacOS 15 and above.
