Hi, I bought a used Maschine+. The seller gave me the license, I activated it on the Maschine, everything was perfect. I decided to do a factory reset, and now here's the problem: when I turn it back on, I connect to Wi-Fi, log in to my account, and it never activates at step 3 and gives me an error message. I read a solution to my same problem on the forum, but the support person I contacted recommended four times that I buy a license. I don't know what's wrong with Jonas. I explained that I have the license on my account and that the machine is bricked because it gets stuck in a loop and never starts, but he's been completely unhelpful. If anyone can help me here, I would greatly appreciate it. Regards
PD:This is the solution I found; it happened to another user exactly what happened to me…
The fix required specific intervention from NI Support. It turned out to be a conflict related to a Maschine 3 license.
Here is the exact sequence that worked, after standard troubleshooting failed:
- Support manually removed the registrationfor the Maschine+ from my account.
- I attempted to re-register on the device, but it still failed with the same loop. (At this point, it was re-registered to my account according to the site — but still couldn't get past the registration flow on the device).
- Support then identified the Maschine 3 license issue. They again removed the device registration from my Native ID account, and manually added an NFR license for Maschine 3 to my account.
- With that license added, the device successfully bypassed the registration screen at startup, allowing me to finally access the main OS.
- From there, I performed a full factory reset (
Settings > System > Hold SHIFT > Reset). - After the reset, I registered normally on the device (using manual username/password entry) and it worked perfectly.
Big thanks to Michael John from support for figuring this out. Hope this helps anyone else stuck in this specific loop.
