How do I "fix" the paths so Reaktor updates work?

Hello,

I've found similar problems to mine, but still no fix. I've emailed support but so far they have not been able to assist in resolving this. It must be something simple.

Basically, I opened Native Access late last year and everything updates except certain files related to Reaktor. I also can no longer see the Reaktor 6 library/ensemble files. I've always used default folders, and I've never used an external drive. The folders that should work have read/write access.

Reaktor 6 opens, and I can see the Reaktor 5 library. All of that works fine, but why can't I update via Native Access and see my Reaktor 6 library?

I tried uninstalling/deleting Native Access, no luck.

I also tried re-installing Reaktor and it took, but i still can't update via Native Access.

Hello,

try to open native access with admin rights, by right click on the icon and select "start as administrator"

Because of drastic changes brought by Apple on Sequoia and Tahoe, we had to migrate the products to new installing technology, this is why you see these updates.

If the updates do not work the fastest way would be to use the uninstall feature of Native Access for these Reaktor instruments and then installing them again from scratch. Let us know if that worked out.

Uwe303: I'm not using Windows, so opening as administrator is irrelevant.

Jeremy_NI: I'm running Sonoma 14.8.3 though, not Sequoia or Tahoe. There is no uninstaller, so I just removed everything manually like Native Access suggested. I still get the same errors for 4 updates related to Reaktor (see attached).

Have you read this:

Native Access Error Message: Downloading (*Product*) failed: could not create new file or truncate existing file – Native Instruments

And can you post a screenshot of your Preferences→File Locations dialog box so we can see exactly what your paths look like?

Any chance we can see what your /Users/Shared/ directory actually looks like on your disc (Finder?)

Something is not right here for sure….

I've had good luck over the years with all of this stuff. I've heard about the headaches and horror stories, I guess a curve ball finally came my way. : )

The plot thickens: Now I can't use anything through Reaktor 6. It asks me to activate (after opening a project with an older Reaktor 5 ensemble. This was working just days ago). When clicking activate, Native Access opens and does nothing.

Which version is asking to activate - v5 or v6?

What is listed in your master NI Account for Reaktor? And/or how did you acquire it?

I only have Reaktor 6 on this computer, I was using "Carbon 2" from the Reaktor 5 library. So, only Reaktor 6 shows up in Native Access on this computer. I still have Reaktor 5/6 installed on an older 2014 macbook (which hasn't been booted in months, so that's irrelevant to all of this).

I bought Reaktor many years ago (I got in at version 3 or 4?).

But in this case, the instance of Reaktor 6 loads, but Carbon 2 is "grayed out", asking me to activate. It simply does nothing when I try.

Frustrating, it must be something simple.
