Upgrade Select 12 to Ultimate 13

Hi everybody,

I own a Mk3 and komplete kontrol A61, i'm currently working with Komplete Select 12 and i found a second hand deal for a Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade.

When i enter the licence to initiate the transfert, it says that the base product is missing.

But when i look a the upgrade table, as i read it, it is possible to upgrade from Select straight to Ultimate, right ?

So I'm wondering, is the fact that i jump onto a 13 Ultimate a problem now we currently are at the 15 version ? I don't know.

Yes that looks as if that is right.

That should not just say "Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade" , it should say "Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade for Komplete Standard" or "Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade for Komplete Select"

You could have the wrong Upgrade.

Also please notice the difference between Upgrades and Updates if that is what you have !

It is also possible that what if you actually have is a "Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade for Komplete Select" that that then would only work immediately with K13 Select , in which case you would have to ask N.I. Support (all) if that is fixable with respect to what you have.

We have not been able to get any official word from NI with respect to if e.g. a "Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade for Komplete Select" will actually work with e.g. a newer Komplete 14/15 Select . Instead we have been told that people have to ask Support on a case by case basis !

Then there is also another source of error possible. It could also be a question of you not understanding rules with respect to 'base' for upgrades. Even if e-g Komplete Select is valid as base then if you have already used the Select 12 as base for one upgrade (e.g. to Standard) then it can not simultaneously be used as base for another upgrade- As far as I know then each product can only be used as base for one upgrade.

I did not upgrade my Select 12 to anything else, i'm still on it.

I understood well the upgrade/ update difference.

I thank you are right, the seller just told me he went from Select to Standard, then to Ultimate. As i get it, it mean i should have bought a Komplete 13 standard upgrade..

or if selling you an upgrade from Select to Ultimate he should have also included the , in this case, required in-between upgrade from Select to Standard so that it read Select→Standard→Ultimate Upgrade. Yes these things require paying attention both as seller and as a buyer..

You are very welcome. I hope that you get the problem solved one way or the other. IMO then it rarely pays to buy secondhand compared to %50 off at the NI Sales , unless of course what you are after is in e.g. K13 but not in e.g. K15..
