Enabling flux mode in loops

Hi! I have been really enjoying using Traktor Pro for the past two years (version 3 and then later 4). I use it with either mouse/keyboard, or a Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 and a midi mapping file found off the internet and edited to fit my needs. However there is something that has always bugged me about loops and flux mode.
There are three ways to create loops (as far as I know) in Traktor Pro, right?
- Using "Loop control" to set an auto loop and later change its size.
- Using "Loop in"/"Loop out" to set a loop.
- Using "Active" (next to "Loop out") to enable a loop stored in hot cues.
From what I can tell, these do not interact with flux mode (i.e. playback will not resume 3 bars later, after I loop for 3 bars and then disable the loop).
There is a way to use Flux mode and stored loops in hot cues, which works likes using regular hot cues, and playback will resume to the expected position after the hot cue is released. This happens no matter whether I use my controller or simply play around with the software and mouse/keyboard.
However recently I witnessed a friend of mine do what I had thought impossible. Using his Traktor Kontrol S2, he enabled an auto loop with "Loop control" while flux mode was enabled… And to my surprised as he disabled it playback resumed later in the track, as opposed to directly after the end of the loop.
How is it possible to obtain such power? Does the S2 map this input to several controls/features? If so I could replicate that behavior, theorically?
