All NI Native Access downloads blocked by Win 11 security features. What is the answer?
My SSD in a Win 11 Laptop died :-(, so I am now trying to reinstall all my NI and Cubase SW with a new SSD, but Win 11 security somehow blocks internet connection of the Native Access App:
"Cannot connect to the internet. PLease check your connection settings or disable your VPN."
Cubase's download app brings the same frustrating message.
Apart from a Mac perhaps (?), what is the best fix for this in Win 11? I'm going crazy!

This sounds like a Windows firewall issue. And has nothing to do with the apps in question.

The apps are certainly ok, they are being blocked by win 11. I tried disabling the firewall and the anti-virus app in win11 but got the same message.

The only way for this to be happened is if you manually adjusted the "security" level to an insane/paranoid degree.
Please reset your security software (and tell us which one it is!) to their default / recommended settings. Unless you are a super-secret spy organization or a hi-tech multinational corporation, the default / recommended settings are more than enough! ☺️

Win 11 VPN is also deactivated….. a mystery. I was hoping NI and/or Steinberg Cubase may have a nice answer.

Thanks for the suggestion but that is where I have already been to find an answer ( the german version…. ). I tried using an ethernet cable connection (internet worked for my browser etc but no luck with the installer sw), I will still try the access point option with my iPad or iPhone to try and overcome the blocking of an internet connection for the download.

@Sunborn, I installed win 11 fresh this morning and assume all the security measures are default status, I changed nothing there. That there is such a reaction to download assisting software of both NI and Steinberg is strange, other internet use is not affected. I got half way through NI Download in one attempt, but then the system crashed the process. I'll certainly report the solution when I find one!

VPN programs can often cause problems.
I would try uninstalling the VPN and then using TCP optimizer and click "reset defaults", then restart the computer.

@Heisenberg. I don't use VPN but notice there is a VPN option in Win 11. Is that something to deinstall?
