Unintuitive play/record behavior on Kontrol S MK3 and Ableton Live 12
Running fully updated S61MK3 with latest AL12 on Mac. Is there a way to change the play/record behavior from the Kontrol to be like the play button behavior on the computer?
when I use the mouse on the computer to set the play head location and hit play or record, it starts from where I set it. But the Kontrol play/record just ignores what I do on the computer and always starts where it stopped. It's all so counter intuitive.
Any advice?

This is a common feature/issue with all controllers in Ableton, not only for our keyboards.

Sorry, I’ve edited my answer because it was incorrect. NI has deep integration with supported DAWs. Impossible to tell if it is NI or Ableton’s bug.

It’s using the NI ‘deeper integration’ in Live, not MCU. In Bitwig is it possible to modify some transport behaviour, at least if using the MOSS script, but I don’t know if you can in Live

Yes, for DAW mixer. @Matthew_NI mentioned that the transport commands are always MCU.
Scratch that, I remembered incorrectly, see below…

You are right 🤣
I’ve edited my original answer as it was misleading.
I remembered it incorrectly 🤔
I found the post from Matthew about it:
If no supported DAW is connected, Mk3 transport falls back to MCU. If the supported DAW is connected, it is as you say “deeper integration”, which I’m guessing is OSC.

Yes, that was my belief - and I think the deeper integration is all OSC based
