Using newer K Select as base for older Komplete upgrade?
Hi, i own Komplete select HW 14 and I’d like to register a used Komplete 13 ultimate Upgrade from select. Now, usually it isn’t possible to upgrade to older versions, but in other threads, someone told that now (probably NI changed some policy, idk) this is possible, however they told to contact the support to make sure it is. This is what I did, I tried to contact the support but I think it isn’t working properly, i didn’t receive the ticket in my first account and I cannot see the request in support; I tried with another account and the live chat (that in my first account isn’t available because I already used once and right now I cannot reset it) forwarded the request to the support, but didn’t receive any answer.
My question is: have you ever tried to register a product upgrading to older versions from Komplete Select? Do you know if what I wrote above is possible?
P.S. upgrading to older versions from Komplete select makes perfectly sense. Think about buying a used (or older) bundle Maschine (like I did) + Komplete 13 ultimate (in bundle sold as upgrade from 13 Select, which is included with HW), if you try to register the Maschine the version unlocked isn’t the 13 anymore if a newer version of Komplete has been published, the version unlocked is the last one, so the buyer could not unlock the same version as the seller, despite buying the same bundle.

Yes that is a problem that I have reported it ti N.I: and it has apparently not been fixed yet. Word is that it is a limitation in something not directly under N.I. control (paraphrasing here) but that N.I. hopes for a fix soon.

Yes , I am the instigator of that 'rumor', I have been informed by someone that policy has changed but has been unable to receive any confirmation. And I frankly do not understand why if policy has changed which it apparently have. So again I have to refer you to support.
When if you manage to contact support then make sure that you include which account the matter is concerning so that you do not get another mess there.

Else , my problem is that I not a N.I. employee ad if I try to use the interface to find out how to advice you to open a ticket then my support interface will be locked also if I progress far enough for it to be of help for you.
I think that I will have to call @Jeremy_NI , could you please help OP here and maybe 'nudge' support into making all this easier for people in the first place ?

Nothing, I found a thread on this community, someone said that it is a problem they are aware of and they are working on it
Also, it would be really useful if a page in the FAQ showed current ulgrade paths, there is one but is really old

Anyway the live support chat (whom I told that it wasn’t my first account, and indicated my first mail) on the other account told me that they didn’t know and that support would’ve contacted me.

I do not know, whether it is possible. I even have asked support year, two ago and got no real answer. They have answerred other question than I have not asked….
But wild guess is, it is possible. Because, licence says only Upgrade from KSelect, not Upgrade from KSelect X-Y. On contrary if Base Product is e.g. Komplete, one buys Upgrade from Kx-Ky.
But that is just my guess based on logic. It may work or not….
