I am sequencing a kick drum in step mode on a 16 bar pattern on Maschine 2.17.5 on Mac OS Ventura

Each time I input a note the velocity is of a different value even though I have a fixed velocity setting of 127 setup in pad mode.

Is it normal ?

It’s not a bug, it’s just a weird quirk of the default value being overridden while in step mode. If you change the default velocity value in step mode it will then set the velocity for all recorded notes (in step mode, keyboard mode, pad mode, note repeat, etc.) to that value specified in step mode. I guess it a way for you to have some control over the default velocity value, but it can be confusing for some because it’s not super obvious that it’s getting overridden by the step mode’s velocity value.

You have to activate fixed velocity for Step mode as well if you want all notes to be at the defined velocity. Otherwise the step velocity is determined by how hard you hit the Pad for that step.
