Native Access 3.9.0 "Installation failed: Review your location preferences" error message

After updating to 3.9.0 Native Access asks me to reinstall Kontakt 7 and a lot of other products by NI. However when I try to do that I get the error message in the title. When I try to open Kontakt 7 in Logic Pro or as a stand alone it shows a prompt to Demo, Buy or Activate.

Also a 3rd party plugin I have by Teletone Audio can't be found at all in Native Access anymore.

Location preferences are the same they have always been (external drive for content) and NTKDaemon has full disk access but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or can someone smarter than me point me to a solution?

Hey everyone! I tried the trouble shooter @PoorFellow linked their comment and reset the XML file with those instructions and everything seems to work just fine now just as before. No missing presets or anything, at least after quickly browsing through stuff. So yeah definitely try this first!

Thank you so much for your help! Hopefully everyone else here can get their stuff working as well. All my NI software was bought with Komplete 14 bundle as well so there might be something going on there @Antongia

Try reverting to an earlier version of Native Access , I only have link for the legacy version download ,

else try the following Trouble shooter here : My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access , especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files'

Hello everyone,

I had the same problem, and resetting (deleting) the XML file fixed it. I quote the steps below For Mac:

8. Reset the XML file

If you have checked all the above and you are still missing a product, please follow these steps to reset the Native Access XML file:

1. Quit Native Access and all other apps.

2. Open the following location on your computer:

macOS: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center

Windows: C: > Program Files > Common Files > Native Instruments > Service Center

3. Delete only the file named NativeAccess.xml from the Service Center folder.

4. Start Native Access and click the refresh button.

After the scan, all the products from your account should be visible again.

The NA V 3.9.0 issue ought to be fixed rather soon , but until then : Here's a version of Native Access 3.8.0 in the meantime: NATIVE ACCESS 3.8.0

I have the some problem too. All the Ultimate 13 and 14 programs are disappeared from Native Access after the 3.9.0 update and they are not working anymore an any DAW.

Good to know that I'm not alone with this problem but sorry to hear that you guys have this too. Hopefully this will get solved quickly.

I obviously have quite a few pieces of music made with these instruments and I'm extremely worried that all the presets I've made for them have disappeared because of this.

A note from Italy, that maybe could help us to understand better: from Access 3.9.0 had disappeared all the programs that are in the Komplete bundle. I bought Electric Mint apart, and it's still working... 🤔

My version of NA is 3.9.1, not 3.9.0 as indicated by the prior posts.

Am I running a future version?

I'd just like to point out that if it wasn't for forum members like @PoorFellow we would be in a much worse place. His tireless efforts to bring us solutions to problems inflicted on us by NI's frankly appalling inability to get things right first time is greatly appreciated and should be applauded. Just for anyone who is still having this issue, I think I worked out the fix.

I was confused as to why the "location preferences" were incorrect, even though I hadn't changed anything about where the install folder is located. In a frustrated attempt to fix the issue, I restarted my computer. Then I had a thought that "install location" might not actually refer to the folder location but "location services" preferences. So I went to System Preferences, opened Security & Privacy and went to the Location Services section. There I saw there was a Native Instruments entry that did not have Enable Location Services ticked. So I ticked this and then opened up Native Access again and tried to install my plug in (Slate and Ash 'Cycles') and it worked with no issues.

So, either the restart solved the issue or, weirdly, the "location preferences" the installer is referring to isn't the install location, but is instead a Location Services request that has not been manually authorised.

Now.. why Native Access wants to know our location is another issue.

Somewhat old thread but I still ran into this installation problem getting a plugin from SubMission Audio today. Had to delete the existing NTKDaemon to make this version you linked install. Thanks! We're back on track.
