Crashes in Session Guitarist

Hi to everyone,

Today I bought the update of Komplete 14 Collector’s edition…

While playing some libraries the App of Komplete Kontrol crashed when I try to load a preset of Session Guitarist - Picked Nylon…

I’m re-opened the app and I noted that 4 Session Guitarist libraries was affected by same crash…

- Session Guitarist - Electric Sunburst Deluxe Library

- Session Guitarist - Electric Vintage Library

- Session Guitarist - Picked Acoustic Library

- Session Guitarist - Picked Nylon Library

This happens also in Kontakt 7… Same bugs and only on these 4 products!!! I also try to delete Kontakt 7, Komplete Kontrol and these 4 libraries in all directories on my Mac… my privacy preferences are all ok to allowing NI plugs access on disk… but NOTHING: the problem is still here… in Logic Pro and in Standalone Version…

Anyone tell me something about these bugs?

We were able to reproduce the issue. Issue will be fixed in the next update (7.5). Hopefully coming in the next weeks.

In the meantime, here is an installer for the previous Kontakt version: KONTAKT 7.3.2

Hey all, Kontakt 7.4.2 is now available in Native Access. Please let us know if that works now or if you are still experience crashes.

@jepscore What library exactly? Which sound presets, songs or patterns? Does it also crash in standalone? If it doesn't, what version is shown when you click on the NI logo in the Kontakt's window in PT?

Hi Jeremy,

I downloaded v 7.5 yesterday. That is the version now showing in my existing file.

I did test K7.5 on a new PT file. I inserted a new instance of K7 on a stereo instrument track. I inserted "Picked Acoustic" as the only module in Kontakt. I proceeded to change sound/pattern presets and all went well !

However, I went to an existing file (fairly large file), which has 2 stereo instrument instances of K7. Each instance has multiple components on multiple midi channels. If I add "Picked Acoustic" to an existing K7 track, then, attempt to change sound/pattern preset, Pro Tools crashes and I have to force quit. That said, I then tried to create a new (3rd instance) of K7 on a new, 3rd stereo instrument track. I was then able to change the pattern preset on the new instrument track without a crash. I have not attempted to add additional modules to that 3rd instance of K7, but may try to do later today.

This issue was very specific and so is the fix. If you open Kontakt 7 in standalone, if you change the sound presets or patterns, does it crash or not? If it doesn't, then the source of your issue in PT might be different.

I just tried in standalone. The problem does not seem to recur, but I don't use Kontakt in standalone mode.

@jepscore And in ProTools you can reproduce it every time, even in a brand new project? Can you make a small project where you can reproduce the issue, zip it and post it here?
