Coming up next for MASCHINE and MASCHINE+

Even with 85% cpu load, I don't have this kind of problem.
Neither adds features and fixes bugs, the 2 can be done together

The fact that you don’t have a problem doesn’t mean the problem doesn’t exist. Many users are reporting similar severe instability issues.
The only insight NI gave about this is that they’re updating the linux kernel to a newer release. That’s what hobbist playing with GNU/Linux do. No repeatable evidence collection? No root cause analysis? This is embarassing trivial, and unfortunately feed the suspect that these guys are not in control of these issues and lack solid competence on GNU/Linux. The displays become lagging sometimes: this is a clear sign that the basic kernel scheduler is not behaving right. Are they even aware of this?
Sorry to insist but this is not a secondary feature giving troubles, but the primary function of an equipment.
Having worked on embedded GNU/Linux projects (also with similar hard realtime requirements) in the past I am afraid NI underestimated the effort of porting their software to this system. It’s not just recompiling some JUCE (or plain C++) source code with minor adaptations. Real world porting projects often need kernel space coding. I’ve personally had to patch the kernel code or libc code in many linux porting project for our clients. Once we had to fix a bug on the gcc compiler itself!
I agree that feature dev and bugfixing can be parallelized, but given the severity of these issues NI should stop doing everything else until they make it work, or admit they can’t.
That’s what serious professionals do.

What would it take to make you their helper? Since you seem to know a lot abt these things and can pick up the signs that show that the unit isn’t properly working. How can you contribute?

hmm, I hope the fact that some can run 85% and others can’t run 40% without issues isn’t because of hardware. Maybe it’s time to send mine in before warrantee runs out…?
Ill wait to see what happens with next firmware. In meantime I’ll back up all my projects to PC and perhaps before the update I’ll scrub everything to start from scratch.

There’s plenty of great specialists (actually much better than me) on the market. There’s code hunting, there are fantastic linux gurus available as contractors, there are specialized software companies..
Frankly I am not available to give away my time to Native Instruments to beta test a faulty product they sell at premium price.
For example NI could ask the guys behind blokas.io for a consultancy. For sure they know how to make super reliable high quality audio dsp in GNU/Linux.

So when giving negative feedback remember to also give feedforward, a suggestion of some sort, be constructive.

Sorry sir, but how “you’re underestimating a primary issue, and should put every possible effort on fixing it (such as doing X or Y) instead of adding secondary features” is not a constructive feedback?
Please forgive me and let me add that M+ users have been way too generous and patient with NI so far. The only reasonable constructive feedback to the Maschine+ product manager IMHO is: you shouldn’t go home from office until you fix this… And stop selling the product until then. That’s how serious professionals behave.

@Fabio Barbon Let's not mix what our teams are doing with whatever information you gathered online on your own. There's obviously tons of work happening with stability and it's not because you can't read exactly what the engineers are doing that results aren't real. The same goes with new features, it's not because we add a couple of things (which is needed after being stuck with a few stability and compatibility updates) that these issues aren't a priority to us.
With that said, I'd suggest taking this topic to a new thread, we were literally just talking about how bloated threads are becoming and again the topic went from the next update to a lecture on embedded GNU/Linux and how to operate our engineering department. Thank you!

I rarely have crashes anymore.. Somewhere around 1 single crash per week of use.. No glitching when CPU is not being significantly hit. Been like this ever since I udated to the latest OS and firmware (FW update solved all my DIN MIDI issues) and bought a Kingston U3 128GB SD card.
I use an external audio interface almost exclusively with my Maschine+ and only have 3 expansions installed.. These factors might also contribute to a degree?

To go back on the topic a little bit and share an important bit of news.
The team identified an issue with the Maschine update and unfortunately, we have to push it to next week to sort things out (fix the bug and do more QA). We locked exactly a week from now and I'll keep you all updated if there's anything coming in the way 🙏

No surprise here. Although personally I thought it would be Friday before we got the bad news.

I had CPU crunch at 15 percent after loading a stock Maschine kit with zero plugs just last night:(. I had it running a Tascam Model 12 (awesome pair btw). With Kingston U3 128 just like you. I am currently up to date on updates. If this persists I’ll send it back for repair or replace after I try a full wipe and install with the next firm and or software update.

There is no drama, there are worse things in life than an update delayed by a week.

Ok so let me get this straight, you're not getting any info at all ... you complain. We're keeping you in the loop weeks in advance and up to release ... you complain. There is a reason why everytime I'm saying things can change and if the way we communicate is so frustrating to you, perhaps you should just wait until the update is available and ignore what's happening around here.
