I voted for Maschine because it brought :
- an almost like a daw sequencer
- simple yet ultra effective fx management between sounds and group
- nks / browser
- physical layout and general design really well thought
- no useless touch screens or cheap design attempts. Everything feels at place
- lot of sounds and integration with native access that makes management smooth
Maschine is nearly the perfect device we could never have dreamt of 15 or 20 years ago.
What baffles me is how NI seems to leave this gem out.

Another way to say this is a developer should not over-serve one segment of their customer base while neglecting another.
No, that article concludes, it is not good to try to please all at the same time and go middle "optimal" way. It is better and natural do sometimes more for one group of users and another time to other one.
But, IMHO there are not two distinct groups of users. If anything, there are many groups of users/potential users.

An innovation for the next version of Komplete Kontrol that would appeal to both new users and existing users would be to simplify the browsing experience.
Making the search for a sound you need to fit in an arrangement faster and more elegant would allow music creators to stay focused on music making rather than digging through hundreds of poor results with cryptic names.
"NKS 2.0" with a super-enhanced browsing experience could be the killer feature that brings in users of all types... and a prime example of being simultaneously "simple" yet deeply "innovative".

Yes Play Series definitely came to mind when I read that article. Schema dark is also great as well imo

This poll is just for fun @Murat Kayi. As for the Maschine survey, I'm not sure we can share detailed results considering that they might involve proprietary info. If you remember a Traktor accessibility survey - that one we did share results with a small group of people who signed up to be part of the Accessibility community, and they're all under NDA.
I understand though that you'd like to hear what the Maschine team's current focus is. One thing I can share is that we did pass on the most requested features collected in the old forum to the team.

From my previous experience, the product team often needs to decide whether to spend resources building new (often more complex) features requested by advanced users, or simplifying the workflow for new users.
Whenever we rolled out workflow-related improvements to make the product more accessible, power users would go "If it's not broken, don't fix it." And when we released new features for power users, the rest would go "Whatever, can you make this thing easier to use first?".
So yeah, I wish "user selectable options" is that easy to implement.

Yes, but this is not current-new users dilema, but advanced-causal users. And that is problem. The easiest way is IMHO user definable behaviour and user interface.
For example. Maschine has changed system of naming duplicated (or even new??) patterns. That has corrupted workflow of people who were used to old system of naming. It would not hurt make it user definable.
Sure, it is difficult to decide what to add and how, what to remove and so on. A develop SW for more than 30 years and the oldest program that is still in use and maintained is 30 years old.

Coming from a commercial product software career myself, I think NI could do itself and it's user base a big favor were they to divide their product line into two distinct areas such as PREDOMINANTLY live performance tools and PREDOMINANTLY studio production tools. There would obviously be a certain amount of crossovers especially with the libraries, but I think it would be a useful paradigm for customers to better understand how your products fit together and what best suits their needs.

So like traktor, if those modular traktor hardware (d2, F1, X1, z1) had proper mapping for maschine I can see them be used for live use considering they're designed for that. Maybe dual purpose hardware?

And wice versa, Maschine Mk3, Maschine Jam, maybe Maschine Mikro.... They could serve quite well as controllers for Traktor. And some kind of easier integration of Maschine SW and Traktor would be nice. The both live and off-line. For example, I do not understand why it is not possible to create STEMs for Traktor directly by export from Maschine!!!!!!

Yep. Give new life to old gear. Fortunately they are software dependent so they can still be updated. Stems for S5 and S8?

I use kontakt the most and maschine is a distant second, but I vote reaktor.
You have a product that ranges from providing a GUI for synths/effects (i.e. monark, the mouth, etc) to an easy to use modular environment (blocks) to something that would probably be useful in a phd dissertation.
You (NI) have the ability to make "play series" like stuff in reaktor; ensembles as super presets. We (users) have the ability to nearly replace the entire Waves (or Plugin Alliance if you prefer) catalog with reaktor.

I think the question is too broad.
As NI is mostly a software company, I kept this in mind before voting.
IMHO, Komplete Kontrol turned out to become a damn impressively robust bridge, which was built over the very swampy lands of hardware + software reconciliation.
Please keep NKI open and alive, and keep updating KK as it allows for faaaaaaaaar much more than most of your users think.
Without continued efforts from NI to push KK forward, I will most definitely not upgrade to Komplete Ultimate 15 when it's out, and bid farewell to the suite and the company.
