Maschine Plus - what happend with updates?
Hey, I know it's not appropriate to ask about updates lately, but usually both the software and the device were updated at the same time. Is this somehow changed now and we should not likely count on M+ updates anytime soon?

? It's OK to ask anything... Obviously, official responses to such questions aren't a thing... So the best you will get is user's opinions.
It didn't change, if an update has something that relates to the M+ then you get updates for both but it just so happens that for a while it's been mostly just VST3 and Apple Silicon or an occasional bugfix.
Typically when new hardware is released there's a bunch of update activity to improve it for about 2 years but then eventually it dies down as they focus on something else... Personally, I wouldn't expect any meaningful update anytime soon but this is just my opinion.

This particular person shared a screenshot from a survey they say is dated April of 2022! I don't want to get busted for posting leaks, but as far as I know, this may be an entirely separate device than the rumored Push 3...

Exactly, I think so too. You confirmed what I was thinking about myself. I understand that NI is working on something, but it's still a while away. :)

Ok…NI moved on…but if then they update,e.g., Reaktor and we can’t use ensembles created with the new version in M+, what should we do?

Probably wait, lately probably the only sensible solution ;-D

Install an older version of Reaktor on your computer.

They made it quite difficult to do, since they removed installation files from their site.
And…so…if you are a good customer of NI, buying also their more expensive hardware, your prize is…being forced to have less than other users?
Usually it’s eventually the opposite: people with the flagship products get more, not less…
Not the best user experience I ever witnessed…

No they haven't - legacy installers have always been available. It's just current products you need Native Access for and even then you can for example find earlier installers for Reaktor 6, just not the most recent

You’re right 👍🏼
Why no one from NI ever said this?
Second part of my post remains valid: Why people with Maschine+ should be forced to not update other products in order to use it? I just hope they will update them in M+ too and it’s just a matter of a bad release timing by their side. In any case, not an optimal way to work

Most of the mods haven't been around as long as me :)
I think the problem with Maschine + (like many similar products that are basically a computer built into a musical device) is the chips (+RAM, memory etc) that are used tend to be pretty basic and soon outstripped by what desktop computers are capable of. They just can't run the more recent products as they don't meet their entry requirements (Massive X being a great example - it needs AVX code that the built in chip just can't run).

And that’s why they never told us we will have Massive X on +. But they gave us Reaktor…only to make it unusable with the last version a little later…
And…yes…they are not around for as long as you…but this is not YOUR job…
Thank you for doing what.s NOT your job so well 👍🏼

You can use almost any older Reaktor version to make stuff for M+ (at least from v 5 upwards ). This is just bad timing is all, NI will update M+ Reaktor in time, and we will then have version parity once again.
M+ is not the flagship product, Maschine desktop is. Any longtime Maschine user can tell you that M+ < Maschine desktop
Lastly, custom Reaktor content is still not "officially supported", so technically you getting upset over being unable to use R6.5 with M+ is misunderstanding. NI has never promised us support for custom Reaktor content, so they are just "keeping their pronise"

You mean longtime user like 14 years? I bought the first Maschine bundled with the 1.0 software the day of its release. And it’s still in my studio. As an ornament, but it’s there 😂😂😂
In my opinion, an hardware like M+ costing 1400 at its release is the flagship, but I understand your point: Maschine software is what everything else revolves around. But you know…a 1400 bucks hardware (which gets bundled with the software) vs a 60 bucks software…
And I agree with what you said, but it’s just a strange behaviour to update one side and forget about the other 👍🏼

Erm, yes they have, go and actually look at the legacy installers there, if you see Reaktor 6.4.3, you are doing better than me, because the latest there is 6.3.2 and 2020, so that so called legacy list has not been updated in 3 years.
NI need to release parity updates or admit that M+ is unsupported, so that M+ owners can freeze a computer system with compatible software, this is the only fair thing right now.

I think what he meant is you can find some older installation files under the legacy products page, not all of them.
In any case, I agree with you on the fact they abandoned the installation files providing and also about parity updates or admitting. But NI doesn’t admit things. They are never 100% transparent
