Use traktor s4 mk3 outside with USB cable

Hello is it possible for traktor s4 mk 3 to use the controller outside the home using only a USB cable and laptop?

  You'll always need power for the S4 MK3.

  It would be good to know if you tried unplugging the power during a mix when at home and including the results in your original post.
