I might be wrong but, in theory, the restrictions inherent in Maschines pattern format may mean that this is highly unlikely unless the clips format could be adopted to allow it, though I doubt it.

It has been a source of frustration for many and has been high on the requested list, but I've yet to see any indication of it being likely to be addressed or announced if it is technically a possibility.

I wasn't doing music when Maschine was introduced but I get the impression that it was produced to be a quick and simple way to produce stuff. I believe this was mainly possible by reducing complexity.

As you indicate, maybe the thinking was that because it's also a vst, then it could be used in a DAW that could then work in that desired fashion.

Maschine does look like it can do a lot more than it actually can and Maschine + is even more restricted.

It is also quick and elegant in some ways and ridiculously badly conceived and clunky in others.

It's no consolation but this has been brought up and requested repeatedly so I can't think they are unaware of it.

    @Cretin Dilettante

    Workaround:

As you noticed, you can of course create patterns of uneven lengths and it is a joy to use for polyrhythmic shifting of patterns as well as just parts with off meters in general.

Apart from just performing accelerandos and ritardandos by hand (because you mentioned performing. That implies that you would be willing to create parts of the music on the fly, for example gradating tempo changes): is there currently no dawless way to make M+ listen to BPM info, either via MIDI or Ableton Link?

Whatever happened to the NI ONE project? Thought it was going to be a mega upgrade of maschine with parts of traktor and other NI vsts added? Really wish we got that song mode 5 years ago!

I believe it is a project to unify the different NI teams to work more closely together

I have a question for @Nico_NI or @Matt_NI or whoever might be able to reply to details on the Autosampler: while this is of course cool for Maschine as such, it occurred to me that it might also be a feasible tool to prepare multisampled format for Kontakt, i.e. build a collection of aptly named files you could drag and drop into Kontakt. Is that feasible or is the batch of files that get created during autosampling not convenient for Kontakt in any way?

Thank you. I am particularly happy about the saving options coming.

What is the current status of turning it into a full fledged DAW as spoke about in the old NI forum?

Will we ever get explode pitches of a track in piano roll to their own tracks? Many DAWs or other sequencers 😏have this ability in different names.

I'm a vocalist & knob twiddler, primarily. I don't finger drum unless it's triggering one-shots here & there, and the dynamic time shifts I'm talking about wouldn't be executed the way the are in EDM or Hip Hop (as like a breakdown, transition, or outro from one track to another.), they would be unique sections/moments within a track..like temporarily speeding up your playing to make a crescendo type moment and then snap back to the original tempo...That would be a pain in the ass to do myself while I'm trying to sing/scream/twist knobs/put on a show and interact with the audience. If I only made Techno and wasn't as "performance art" oriented, I could deal with having to use the 5D encoder thingamajig to work with transitions, but I do a bit more than "loop based" stuff and I like being able to step away from the instrument to jump in the crowd and stuff.

Would creating what you need in a DAW and then exporting them as WAV files that then could be used as whatever length samples trigged by the pads in Maschine /+ be a possible workaround?

I think @Cretin Dilettante found himself in a very unique niche where performance clashes with finely preset configuration (I have to say that I am a bit envious that you have a crowd to jump into, though. Good times!).

Basically, we would either need a modulatable master track (because you could save the different BPMs in Lock States, e.g.) or you need to come up with a MIDI solution that takes over the role of host BPM on Maschine+ (and that is just guessing, I don't actually know if M+ allows this)

I’m not 100% positive on this, but I think that bpm is one of the things that Lockstates does NOT save, unfortunately
