How to check if my Maschine Studio works ?

Hello I just recieved my 2nd hand Maschine studio from a seller on Ebay.

While I'm waiting for NI support to respond to my request for help with new registration, i'd like to verify that my Maschine studio actually workss (buttons knobs ect) what can i do in the meantime to check out the product? I dont wantbuy software for a busted maschine. any advice/help would be appreciated. thanks

You could put your controller into midi mode

and then connect it to some sort of midi monitoring software, like MidiOX (if you're on Windows)

If it works, you should see a variety of midi messages flying in when you press the various pads and buttons and turn some knobs.

Thank you I have windows 10

This my first Native Instrument maschine so I really don't know how to navigate anything but when I plug the machine up and turn it on the logo is the only thing that comes on none of the buttons function at all do I need to go into my computer to download the program and your talking about and then it'll respond in some type of way?
