Hi everyone,
I’m wondering when the “One Library” feature will be integrated into Traktor.
Is there already a timeline or public roadmap for One Library support in Traktor?
Thanks in advance!
We don't know details. At the Q&A they said "it's in internal beta"
But for Traktor that could still mean it's months out.
Soon (as usual).
At least they're committed to it.
If you check the Alpha Theta website it says "Available in the coming months" … there's your answer 😁
Isn't "Mixed in Key" already doing this ? (and so much more of course)
Or asked in a different way.. i'm using Mixed in Key, "One Library" wouldn't add anything for me since i'm not using any other DJ software then Traktor ?
I think you are confusing Mixed in Key with something else? Lexicon DJ maybe?
MiK adds a slightly better key detection to a track. I think it can also do some automated cue points? But badly.
This is about playing from a USB stick on CDJs and similar pioneer gear, accessing the playlists, tags and cuepoints. Maybe even letting us play these rekordox OneLibrary USBs on Traktor laptops. So tracks analyzed and exported on Rekordbox, could be used on Traktor. But knowing NI they probably go for the minimal viable solution.
No i also don't know Lexicon DJ..
MiK is doing everything you just mentioned (and more) and you can just export all this (meta) data in Traktor, Recordbox, Serato etc formats and load it directly into your DJ software. so everything is analysed and setup as you would like to have
No, I don't think MiK can export to USB so Pioneer hardware can read it.
OneLibrary is a way to get tracks FROM a DJ software, TO a USB stick so you can use it on CDJ-3000 Hardware.
No, unless someone asked you to play in a club with the club gear. Or you have friends with OneLibrary USBs who want to play on your computer.
That's correct what you say. MiK creates an XML to load into recordbox. it doesn't export the actual tracks.
Unless the way MIK works has changed recently, AFAIK it writes the data (key etc) into the tags of your music files. It has a database for its own use, but doesn't create databases for export to other software.
Correct, and before writing the data into the tags of your music you have to choose which DJ software you are using so it's compatible
MIK is therefore NOT doing what OneLibrary does.
Is this a bot promoting MiK? Wouldn't surprise me knowing their promotional tactics
Wouw… what a thought……….
So we can close every topic in this forum where somebody is not talking about a product/service of NI ?
Or may people still ask questions and be interested in getting to know more solutions then those they already know ?
Yes i understand thanks for this fruitful conversation @PK The DJ and @lord-carlos
