Since the last update, the previews have become really slow to navigate. I used to select a preset and scroll through them using the arrow keys on my keyboard, but now every preset takes more time to load than it used to, making the Komplete Kontrol experience very sluggish.

Previously, the navigation was almost instant, with the preset selection moving immediately. Now, if I press up or down three times in a row, the GUI takes up to two seconds to respond, update the selection on the screen, and start playing the preview. It might not sound like much, but when cycling through hundreds of presets, it adds up and makes it difficult to find the sound I'm looking for.

I have around 40,000 presets, and the issue persists even when I select a subset of presets. It is also present after a full database rebuild.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

FYI, the bug has been filed under the reference KBDSW-7936 and is under investigation.

Hey everyone, sorry for not updating the thread earlier. There has been some investigation and a fix is on the way. It should be part of the next Komplete Kontrol update, coming soon.

I have a huge database though and only get this behaviour when scrolling using the QWERTY keyboard, not the MkIII, so I don't think this is just about database queries, as if it was it would not matter what hardware was being used; although it may be a factor I can't see how it could be the decisive one.

The queries used by the desktop software and the keyboard are different. The desktop app pulls significantly more data, especially for authoring information, compared to the keyboard.

We released an improvement today aimed at optimizing this, but some CenterCode users with around 115K presets reported little to no noticeable change. That said, in our in-house testing with approximately 60K presets, we saw a significant improvement in performance.

After scrolling through only a few presets in version 3.5.0, the up and down arrow keys quit working completely on my Windows laptop. 🤦‍♂️Works fine on my Mac though. Thanks!

*Update: After closing and reopening Komplete Kontrol several times, the issue with the up and down arrow keys seems to be fixed; however, a lot of the sounds previews are missing.

*Update: Issue resurfaced and I can't hear ANY of my user preset previews. Again, this only seems to be affecting my Windows laptop.

*Update: Issue seems to be isolated to my laptop. Works fine on my Windows desktop HELP! Rebuild my database?

It is much snappier when using the arrow keys one by one, even as quickly as I can press them the lag has gone for me. But when holding the arrow key it still jumps multiple presets at once and scrolling freezes up, you can hear the previews loading but the cursor gets stuck.

I upgraded and the previews were a lot faster. Not as fast as in version 2 though.

But my quite large project in Cubase started to freeze in the middle of the session where everything halted/stopped, including mouse and keyboard, so I have to restart Windows.

Please let me know if you have similar problems or if there is another thread available.

Unfortunately, even with version 3.5.0, everything is still just as slow as before...

Browsing the presets is still terribly slow and no comparison to version 2.9.6. The bug still exists - at least for me - with the same intensity.

Only in the side pane of Kontakt 8 does everything work as it should for me. Scrolling in the Kontakt 8 library is still as slow as in Komplete Kontrol 3.5.0.

The initial issue was not about comparison between 2.9.6 and 3, it was a more specific issue where the scrolling of previews caused huge lags, see early videos from @moai early on in this thread.

Not to say there can't be improvements but it's just a slightly different topic.

Was that related to scrolling/listening previews at all? Does it happen in other projects? You might want to start another thread or get in touch with our support for investigation.

I want to add that my preset count has doubled since I opened the bug report, and now even with 80K presets it works as it should for me.

Could you maybe update the solution message to let people know that Komplete Kontrol 3.5.0 is addressing this issue?

I would start a separate thread.

When you do, you might need to explain or be more specific. Scrolling looks fast throughout your video in both environments, so I'm not clear what the issue is exactly.
