Traktor Pro 4.2.0 - Windows 11 - Latency Issues - S4 MK3

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I installed the latest Traktor update (4.2.0) on my Windows 11 laptop (Acer Nitro 5, i7, 64GB RAM). Since the update, I have been experiencing major latency problems in the software.

LatencyMon went massively into the red during a test after installation. I have now adjusted my audio settings to 1024 and 5ms. The laptop then ran stably in a three-hour test, the CPU utilization was mostly around 20-30%.

In my opinion, the latency has deteriorated massively with this update.

I use the S4 MK3 controller and use the Asio driver for the S4 MK3.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Many thanks,

Pacal

    Hello,

normally latencymon also tells you what's causing that issue, you can look at the website and read the manual. In my experience it mostly where drivers causing that issue, network drivers to be specific.

Its unlikely that a software is the cause of a latency issue. It is always the drivers. As @Uwe303 said, please check what latencymon says about what is causing the reds.

Sometimes, it's as simple as the sample rate in the traktor audio settings for the mixer being set too high for the S4. For example, 96k. That's again is something to do with the audio drivers demanding too much from a laptop processor.

    Hi DJM (Sagar)

    Please read this:

How do you explain that I have been using 96kHz sampling in the pro 3 software
for years and I had no problems until about version 3.8, even though I had 4-5 other software open
in the background in addition to the traktor software..?I posted the linked story a week ago, and NI
    didn't even bother to respond..

    I was very disappointed...

    Hello @tlego,

What DJM (Sugar) wrote it is very correct. Technically speaking, it is undeniable. It's a fact.

    You also wrote:

Actually, you posted at May 8, which is just 3 days ago and not a week. Plus that, 2 of those 3 days is a weekend and NI personnel is limited on weekends (as almost all normal people, they need a day off too).

You also assume that NI Support is watching every single post on this forum. This is wrong. Usually are the moderators (who are not NI employees) and the admins (who are NI employees) who checking the posts and try to provide solutions for you, many times with the help of other experienced forum members. If we can not provide a solution, then usually the admins inform the NI Support.

If you want to contact directly to NI Support (which is usually the best way to solve technical issues) then you need to contact them through Native Instruments Support page, here:
