Stem separation with 60s/70s tracks

Dear readers,

Basically, can stems be separated with old school music? Originally recorded for vinyl

Usually they were originally recorded on multitracks
some have been remastered and re-released digitally but that doesn’t change ‘how’ they were recorded
If the tracks can be separated, will they be clean (enough)
Are there a more complex steps that need to be taken using other apps
In the demo video the stems are taken from a digital straight forward house track

Thanks for any feedback, that would be very helpful and save lots of time.

It might be more difficult or perhaps less accurate but it is absolutely possible!

If they will be "clean" enough is something that you need to test for yourself, because it is a "per track" case… Some will, some others not.

The steps and the procedure are the same as with any other music.

Why not try it out?

Either with traktor 4 Demo or any of the many free stem septation programs.

It’s because I have many of my own (lesser known) tracks that I previously recorded from vinyl and using stems from those could help me create something unique during DJ sets. They’re not usually mainstream tracks but I’ll definitely check the website, you never know if something can be found 😊
