NI Form in KK - Issue with recording automation in Pro Tools

Hi, I'm using NI Form plugin (version 1.1) (I guess this is classified as a Reaktor plugin) inside plugin Komplete Kontrol 2.9.4 in Pro Tools Artist version 2023.6.0 (and I’m in Rosetta mode) on a MacBook Pro M1 chip Ventura 13.4.1 and I'm having issues with automating Form inside the Komplete Kontrol plugin. I want to use Form inside the Komplete Kontrol plugin so that I can use my NI Komplete Kontrol S49 keyboard (and not load up Form inside the Reaktor plugin for this reason).

The issue is that the names of the Form (inside Komplete Kontrol plugin) parameters don't show in the automation lanes, I’m working on an Instrument Track. When adding the Form parameters for automation enabling in the plugin window, I can see "parameter" (?) numbers like 121,122 etc corresponding with each parameter, and these numbers show up in the automation lanes, but not the names of the parameters.

This makes it impossible to automate since one would have to write up a list of all the parameter numbers and their corresponding parameter names in order to know which parameter is which.

I've just tried automating this, i.e. automating Form inside the Komplete Kontrol plugin in Ableton Live 11, and this works fine, and all the parameters come up with their names properly.

Is there a solution to this in Pro Tools since this is my main DAW and I would like to avoid having to switch to Ableton Live 11 just to work with Form inside Komplete Kontrol.

Any feedback on this would be massively appreciated!

    @steveh1979 Any particular reason you are using Komplete Kontrol 2.9.4? I see on your profile you have a MK2 keyboard so you should be able to use the latest version of the Komplete Kontrol plug-in or app. Not sure if it will have an impact on your issue but it could help for trying to reproduce the issue. Could you maybe create a small ProTools project, recreate that issue, zip the project and attach it to the thread? This way I can check it out, thanks.

    Hi Jeremy, thanks alot for your reply! On your question about me using Komplete Kontrol version 2.9.4, I guess I've just never updated this version since I started using it. Do you think updating the Komplete Kontrol plugin version can fix this NI Form automation issue I'm having with the Komplete Kontrol plugin in my Pro Tools Artist session?

    If I should I install this new Komplete Kontrol plugin version, is it guaranteed that my saved 1) plugin presets (Komplete Kontrol presets), 2) my Komplete Kontrol Custom Mapping files, and my 3) Pro Tools Track Presets, will work even if I update the Komplete Kontrol plugin to the latest version? I've spent lots of time building these three mentioned types of files, and if there would be any conflict with the new Komplete Kontrol plugin version number, I would have to set this all up again. I've downloaded the Mac M1 installer file for the Komplete Kontrol plugin from NI's website, I guess this must be the latest version of this plugin, right? I can't see any version names in the file name.

    Another quick question, I can no longer see the 'Mixer' button, it's no longer lit up on my Komplete Kontrol mk2 S49 keyboard), but it used to work some months ago. I've seen in NI Forum threads that this has happened to other users as well, and some say I should reinstall the Komplete Kontrol plugin. Or have you heard of any other issues with the Mixer button and its functionality with Pro Tools Artist that I should know about?

    I can send you over a Pro Tools Artist session file zipped, but thought I could start by updating the Komplete Kontrol plugin to its latest version, but before I do this, would you be able to confirm the above so that I don't have any issue with compatibility with my saved 1) plugin presets (Komplete Kontrol presets), 2) my Komplete Kontrol Custom Mapping files, and my 3) Pro Tools Track Presets.

    If you have a mk2 keyboard then there is no reason to stick to 2.9.4. If you have issues with the integration with the keyboard I would definitely encourage you to try to update to the latest version. 2.9.4 is a very old version, if there's a bug in it, it won't get fixed, if the bug persists in the latest version of Komplete Kontrol we would file it and possibly fix it.
