Will there be a version 2 update to Maschine+ or only a version 3 upgrade?

Considering how long this update has been delayed, and therefore how much internal testing they must have done (they said some time ago that it was being tested), plus how often they've been saying "SOON", I hope the beta will just be a very quick check with a wider group that there are no problems, before it gets released into the wild.

okay, thank you, but at Akai Pro side it looks so. Than I missunderstood this.

As the product descriptions say, they're "custom made" for the MPC, so whereas the desktop versions run inside Kontakt, the MPC versions don't (because MPC doesn't have Kontakt).
People trying to defend NI releasing these only for MPC have said "Maschine+ can't run the full Kontakt 8" - well MPC doesn't run Kontakt at all, and here we are. The instruments run on MPC.
Ideally we'll see something similar done for the Maschine+ "soon" 🤣

in NI's defense, a lot of people are really pissed off at the 3.0 release for MPC. It's apparently missing time signature changes and crashes a lot. The Maschine+ is overall still the most functional standalone, for better or worse. I was rooting for Akai, but it looks like all of the Hybrid-Standalone Grooveboxes have many of the same problems…OS Stability, Gig-Ending Bugs, missing features.

in the new 3.0 OS, the option for different time signatures isn't there anymore. but due to some akai reps, it's gonna be available in a future update.
sidenote: the maschine+ still can't do different tempo per scenes! and who knows if or when this will be available… with NI you have to be even more careful on what they promise or not.

you’re a changed person lately. Big up.

Option 3: Charge small fees for maintenance updates and a considerable amount of money for feature packed upgrades.
However, that requires an initial solid product release that’s actually finished and relatively bug free.
Option 4: Subscription plans.

I don’t think they can afford to charge anything at all until they have caught up with the competition…

So what is the competition? because if you are in the strangeworld universe where you think Maschine competes at all with MPC, you are kidding yourself.
Maschine = Immediate sample and playback workflow + vast amount of high quality content.MPC = Much more power for samplists to sample and then craft those samples.
Neither of these are in the ball park of vintage rack samplers or Kontakt/Falcon etc, so there is no real competition, just options.

thats not true at all. every sampler with a 16 pad layout is directly inspired by the mpc and both of them are sampling/midi drum maschines. maschine was the first one to deliver it with a software in form of a controller/software integration. but the maschine+ as a standalone is in direct competition to any current standalone mpc, even though they come with a different set of features. of course, due to the lack of dedication NI has towards the maschine platform, the mpc platform evolved much more during the recent years.
for example: many hip hop producers who are into sampling have worked with both platforms, although nowerdays it may be all mpc and there are very little "influencers" left on the maschine platform.
remember the mpc renaissance? it was a disaster and reminds me of whats happening to maschine now…3 -
So by that metric, competition is also Behringer LM Drum or any of the Pioneer sampling drum pad things, or the Digitakt or the Roland P6 or Korg Electribe, maybe an iPad, or or or ………..really, are we being serious here? so which competition is it supposed to catch up with? or is it just easy to say "the competition" when it comes to the MPC.
No disrespect, but you haven't used them both if you think the modern MPC is anything like the Z8! (Note here I am not saying one is better than the other)

Ahem. The 16 pad layout of the MPC is a 4 x 4 grid. The LMDrum doesn't have a 4x4 grid. Neither does the Digitakt….. or the Korg Electribe(s). The Roland P6 doesn't even have 16 pads, hence the name.
