Komplete - Instrument grouping error

Hello, I just installed a new Spitfire library and since then all Spitfire instruments disappeared except for one, I tried rebuilding the database but the error persists. You can see in the video that I select presets from the BlankFor.ms library, but it does not have a cover image to select the group. The Olafur Arnalds instrument group does work properly, but all other instruments do not have a cover and I cannot select the groups, only the instruments from the Spitfire brand category.

Any idea what happened and how to solve it? My Komplete Kontrol is in version 3.3.4 and I use Windows 11.

    Hello again,

Following up on my previous post, I wanted to provide more details about the issue I’m encountering.

    • I have the Spitfire app installed, and all libraries are properly located.
    • Some libraries are displayed correctly under a different category (e.g., "Pianobook - Spitfire Audio"), but they are not appearing in the "Spitfire Audio" brand category as they should.
    • For example, presets from the "Spitfire Audio - BlankForms - Tape Synths" library show up in the "Spitfire Audio" brand category but lack a cover image, which prevents me from selecting or filtering the group:

Currently, the only filterable library in the "Spitfire Audio" brand category is "Spitfire Audio - Olafur Arnalds Composer Toolkit." Other libraries I have that should be displayed:

    • Spitfire Audio - Fink - Signatures
    • Spitfire Originals - Abe Laboriel Jr Drums
    • Spitfire Originals - Intimate Grand Piano
    • Spitfire Audio - BlankForms - Tape Synths
    • Spitfire Originals - Epic Choir
    • Spitfire Originals - Intimate Strings
    • Spitfire Audio - BBC Symphony Orchestra
    • Spitfire Originals - Wurli

This issue started after installing the "Spitfire Audio - Olafur Arnalds Composer Toolkit", which has a dropdown sorting feature I’ve never seen in other instruments. I suspect this might be linked to the problem:

I opened Kontakt 8 and the only library that's compatible seems to be the same "Spitfire Audio - Olafur Arnalds Composer Toolkit", the other ones are only NKS compatible and therefore they do not appear here (you can see the preset amount is also correct at 103 presets):

    For reference:

    • I’ve already tried rebuilding the database, but the issue persists.
    • My Komplete Kontrol is on version 3.3.4, and I’m running Windows 11.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Probably more a question for Spitfire Audio since they would have been the ones to set the library data…. tho NI are also suppose to be "quality control" authors for KK libraries but that seems to lack just like addressing bugs does.

Could also be (another) bug in KKV3 but i'd be checking via Spitfire first.

If Komplete Kontrol allows having groups, I believe it's right that a vendor uses it for grouping presets, but it should not prevent other libraries to show up (it's just my speculation that this is the root issue, not sure until support has a deeper look into it). I opened a support ticket with NI and will open one with Spitfire, but my last bug reports with both companies were not addressed for almost half a year, so I'm starting to lose my faith…

Yeah can't speak for Spitfire but NI can be hit and miss with support, price we pay when companies grow their userbase at the same speed they shrink their employees. I don't have many issues where I need support but have had questions answered fast in the past so on the support side I have no complaints myself and the clued up mods here are quick to assist, my gripe is both the lack of response when it comes to actual bugs with full repro reports to help address them and having nothing done for years, or just little to no action on any promised fixes.

It is 100% possible to have additional instrument banks as browsable expansions (like Kontakt) however usually that is only usually when you have different instruments in a single loader, not usually to list additional artists or banks, that is what the bank selector is for but guess what, there is a known bug in this where the sub-bank selector does not appear for some instruments so you can select the first bank fine but the second bank is not selectable.

I'd also expand on this image and state that what is "wrong" is that whole squashed browser with every preset name cut off…

How terrible is it, I mean how is that any way improved on how it was:

Preset names cut short, LESS presets listed, empty space between presets and somehow now even less legible at a glance…

Sorry, completely off topic, just frustrates me every time I have to look at the new GUI on just how terribly designed it is.
