Getting Started

Hey All - I am an old school player who last was deeply involved with music back to early 2000 - 2004. So I have lots to learn.
I have my S61 Kontroller and have hobbled along with it. But I really want to understand how best to use it. For example, the display windows on my keyboard currently reflect a generic set up. I am quite sure they are meant for use within the NI sound library but not sure how to do that.
Is there a beginners forum maybe? How can I best learn my keyboard.

Best starting point is to read the manual. :-)

To start with, which version of the S61 do you have? Is it the original (LCD screen), the MK2 (two colour screens) or the MK3 (one huge colour screen) ?

Also bear in mind that almost every instrument you buy, be it from Native Instruments or a 3rd party partner, that instrument will come with a manual too.
I highly suggest getting that manual out of the library folder where the installer puts it, and make a copy for your DropBox (or simliar) folder. That way, you can always have your manuals handy to a PC, Mac, or even a tablet that you keep near your keyboard controller.
Good luck!
