Kontatk 7 Recalling - Can't Click OK - Ableton Live 12 - macOS Sequoia
Hello,
I am currently experiencing an issue after setting up my new Mac and installing all necessary software. When attempting to open an Ableton Live session, the standard Kontakt relinking prompt appears. However, I am unable to proceed past this point as the "OK" button is unresponsive, causing the application to hang.
I have included screenshots, and a video demonstration of this issue for reference.
This is particularly urgent as I have numerous stems to produce, and I cannot access any session files that utilise Kontakt.
Thank you for your assistance,
Jonathan

The inability to click OK appears to stem from Abletons loading phase holding focus.
Secondly - it also appears that Kontakt itself is not being scanned - OR your project contains an older version of Kontakt and you are trying to use K7 instead.
I do not believe Ableton has "auto-Kontakt migration" where it will automatically load the latest version of Kontakt to replace an older one when encountered.
What happens if you open a brand new (empty) Ableton session and add Kontakt to it? I would do this first (and also open Kontakt standalone) to ensure that Kontakt is actually working by it's lonesome before attempting to open a Kontakt heavy prior session.

It might be a new installation path than your old Mac. Uninstall Kontakt and reinstall it

Same problem here. I work between two computers so the installation path is slightly different but that never was a problem, as I was able to click the prompt and relocate the kontakt library. Session is inaccessible.
Ableton 12.1.5, Kontakt 7.10.70 -
@jonthedreamer Were these projects made on an Intel Mac? In this case they should be opened with Ableton in Rosetta mode: How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta
Please check if everything is working as expected in Kontakt 8 in standalone.
Are you able to load Kontakt 8 in an empty new project? Do all libraries show and can you open them?

Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback, @Esah—I've tried a reinstall but no joy. @Kapo, your situation is pretty much identical to mine. I worked between two computers (a Windows 10 PC running the latest Kontakt and an M1 MacBook Pro) and never had any issues relinking media. I'd open the project, discover missing libraries, relink them, and all would be good. Now I'm entirely unable to do that and have no way of opening these projects to continue working on them.
I'm also on Ableton 12.1.5 and Kontakt 7.10.7. What's crazy is I just got an email from NI advertising a new Kontakt patch, only to come home and find that I'm already on it—and it's what's giving me issues.
@Jeremy_NI, as outlined above, none of these sessions or Kontakt instances have come from Intel machines—even my PC is on AMD. I also don't have Kontakt 8, but I can confirm that Kontakt works fine in new sessions or standalone. It just crashes Ableton when trying to open prior projects because I can't click OK and move into them. How can I get this escalated? as I really need to get on with these projects

Did you just apply a new Ableton update recently - like very recently? Starting to see a number of other users - who applied some brand new AL update - reporting this same thing.
Has anyone contacted Ableton?

I apologise for missing your comment in my response. All instances are using Kontakt 7, and all libraries, including third-party ones, are working fine. The migration of samples and libraries has never prevented any projects from opening. This is most certainly a bug, especially if I am being presented with the choice to do it.. but I can't actually click Ok to do it.

I've just setup a brand new mac mini M4 and have been stuck with the latest macOS, I raised this issue with Ableton at the same time that I raised this issue on this thread, as the issue could be with either party. I'm yet to get a response from Ableton.

This behaviour hasn't been reported yet. Since you're on Sequoia, maybe these extra steps will help:
Apart from that, do the libraries show as installed in Native Access?
If that didn't help, please reach out to our support here: https://bit.ly/NI_support_kontakt

Hi, I'll check these over when I can
But as for raising a support case I tried to do that and it just pushed me here. Do you have a direct link or have anyway of getting a case raised from this thread instead?
Thanks,

That's an Ableton question. Can't you you simply grab the old installer and install it?

Oh, that's interesting. I believe the only way to get older versions is through Ableton's support.

Hi all,
I tried the 12.1.1 from ableton days ago but was unable to test as the projects are saved in the latest version and ableton live refused to open the project without 12.1.5.0
