They probably skip 2.X version and jump straight to 3.0. Fimware was promised to be free update but still you need computer with 3.0 SW to open projects from M+ I bought update of course, prefer to have Maschine as standalone unit live but now - it depends how long take them to prepare update for M+. I need to have ready-play setup at beginning of year. 🤣

Skipping 2.x for M+ would mean breaking a promise, as this forces M+ users to upgrade their desktop software to version 3. Yeah, you could argue that the M+ can be used without desktop software, but i believe one of the big USP's of the M+ was that you could exchange projects between hardware and desktop. Plus some things are simply not possible on the hardware itself.

How is Stem separation treating you. Can't imagine how much longer a same task will take on the Maschine+ if it is even available at all.

That’s the reason why I’ve posted exactly that particular question into a separated topic / question. Not to start an entirely new discussion.

Still I would think it would help if some other customers repeat by replying to that question, too. I think it wil be difficult to rollback after 3.0 is released and doesn’t seem to be fixed or stable enough for your needs / workflow.

It has been more than a month that @Simon_NI dropped his last comment on the topic, and I think the Chief is the only one that’s allowed to publicly answer that particular question or at least calls the shot.

Really curious how stems will be performing on the M+. MPC standalone version sounds much worse than desktop version.

I don’t expect Stems to be ported to the M+. Insufficient RAM, insufficient CPU power. It’s a third party technology developed for modern desktop computers with massive CPU power, and not even an impressively good one. If it’s slower, or crashes, or is worse, users will hate it.

I joked to myself over the vacations that Maschine + has a one-year update cycle, but I didn't think I was right.

I bought Live 12 Suite on blackfriday promo and next i will get Push standalone because I'm tired to ask them about proper support, months of waiting. I tested my workflow and I'm ready to fully switch to Ableton, of course i will be still using Maschine 2/3 as my drum machine because some expansions have really nice dance/house kits so i like that groove and heavy swang on Maschine. But overall feeling is big disapoitment…

BTW Reason has veeery similar situation to Maschine too, that's why im keeping my 13 Standard but use it mainly as VSTi/VST effect because sequencer and overall improvemtns made by Reason Studios are insufficient too.

Yes, I've also bought Push 3 Controller-only edition for 25% off during BF to replace my Push 2. Simply because it has an integrated audio and midi interface, so I can use it with Live Suite 12.1 on my MacBook Pro.

Just like you, I've decided to use M+ as a standalone instrument. In my case as a sample player and FX processor in a DAW-less / DJ setup. So loading / recording loops, creating some beats, and routing external audio signals… but due to the ****** USB interface support this routing is still limited to 2-channels / stereo.

I did upgrade to Traktor Pro 4, because I use a Traktor Kontrol S4mk3, but I'm also looking for a replacement here. Next to this I also own a M32 (for use with the M+) and an A49 KK, that I (still) use with Komplete 14 Collectors Edition. Due to this M+ debacle I don't have plans to upgrade these anytime soon.

Reason… humm… did own a license for version 1, and upgraded to versions 2 and I think 3. So it's been a while since I had a good look at it 😅

Yeah… strange thing is they only actively promoted Standalone, but in the web store it was also applicable to the Controller version. Saw it a couple of hours before the end of sale.

Made it a no-brainer, considering the prices on the used market for selling my Push 2.

I wouldnt mind if Maschine+ does Stem Sep. slowly or not at all. Although I guess its just code and code should run on Computers. I think the focus should be on stability. If its possible to switch tempo with scenes, then this could make M+ a better performance tool. Regarding Push: Dont forget that Push 3 Standalone, as opposed to Maschine, is not able to manage Audiofiles as part of an arrangement, only as part of a scene.

That’s the reason I opt for the Controler-version, leaving the option to upgrade later. Like with Maschine, not everything is possible in standalone. So for now I’ll use it in combination with Live 12 on my laptop. Best of both worlds without the (current) limitations.

And this is where ‘trust’ comes into play… we can rest assured that Ableton will develop Push 3 (and even Push 2) as a controller and in standalone. The hardware is modern, powerful, modular by design, and the product catalog is coherently clear.

From what I've read online, Push 3 standalone suffers from the same issues as Maschine+ (not bullteproof enough for gigging). There is noo way I'm going to get me one until they sort out their mess. Controller version of Push 3 seems like the best idea at the moment, all the benefits of Push without the drawbacks
