Flawed communication between Kontrol S88 MK3 display and Mac mini.
Hello, I am new here. I've just bought some new equipment and am starting out with the Kontrol S88 MK3 on the MacMini - generally happy with it. I originally started with an old MacBook and the installation and communication with the keyboard display/knobs/buttons worked well. Then I decided to replace the old Mac Book with a new Mac mini because the MacBook had a disturbing loud fan due to the old CPU.
Mac mini is nice and silent, but unfortunately, after installing everything a new, the display on the keyboard is not functioning as it did initially, and I am unsure why or what to do about it.
I can access the MIDI settings on the display, but the internal browser no longer shows the sound libraries when clicking the browser button or shift+ same. Additionally, the large touch-sensitive control knob to the right of the display used to allow me to scroll, but it no longer does. While I can still view the channel strips of my DAW in the display, I cannot scroll forward and backward in the timeline on the computer screen using the control knob anymore. It's a bit frustrating, the whole thing.
What could be the reason for this, and what do you recommend I do?
I've tried various things, and sometimes I just want to uninstall and reinstall everything - is that necessary? Thanks in advance!

Hello,
that could have many causes, allow all native instruments stuff, especially the host Integration service or what it´s called
maybe it´s not correctly set in your daw, in logic you could do this, under "enable automatic ……"

@BeatriceA It might be a question of usb c power. Have you tried other usb ports, or even better a USB hub: Kontrol S-Series MK3: Avoiding Connection Issues by Using the Right USB-C Hubs and Cables
Also make sure that the Hardware Connection Service is installed on this new computer and that it has full disk access, like Komplete Kontrol and your DAW: How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

I presume you do have Komplete Kontrol or Kontakt 7 or 8 loaded when are pressing the browser button?

Problem:
Some computer chipsets made between 2020 and 2023 have a known USB-C error that can't be fixed. This can cause sporadic problems with USB-C peripherals like the Kontrol S MK3, including connection failures, freezing, or issues with firmware updates.Solution:
If you experience these issues, try using a USB-C hub between your Kontrol S MK3 and your computer. This can help avoid the problem and ensure a stable connection. This is critically important during firmware updates, as data loss could cause broken firmware. Make sure the hub supports both power and data transfer.0 -
@Uwe303 , @Jeremy_NI - Allowing full disk access to all NI Software in the settings solved the problem insofar as a firmware update was then started immediately, after which the browser worked again. I am currently preparing for a gig and will work more with the browser interface later. Anyway, I'm now warned, also because of possible USB C problems, and above all grateful to have found help here! Thanks a lot!

Is only a hub that has its own power supply suitable for this? Or any other? Could you give me an example of a brand that works? The market is big, and one is afraid of junk ...

Really? That’s not a powered hub.
In fact it’s pretty hard to find a reliable USB C powered hub - the only one I could find fried 2 external hard drives
However for me my Apple Studio Display works as a powered hub
