When will you deliver a fixed version?

This is not a workaround. This is a convoluted mess of the highest order. And NI not being able to adress such a super serious issue is saying absolutely everything about the state of the company today.

And btw, things are even worse. Way worse. I have just made a test. Copied some samples into a directory, loaded them into Battery (inside Logic), saved the project, closed Logic, deleted the directory with the copied samples, re-opened Logic and the project → Battery was not even coming up with the dialog to relocate samples! It just loaded without any samples and called it a day!

    This is 100% reproduceable.

You guys at NI have completely lost it on all accounts. What an incredibly miserable affair!

    Exactly @SaschaFranck

I wonder when the new owners or someone within this sorry excuse for a company finally wakes up. At this point it looks like pure incompetence.

They will never wake up again. They will just leave things as is. Same as with Reaktor. Very likely, everything but Kontakt, Maschine and perhaps Traktor will die rather soon. They don't want to fix their other software anymore, it's as clear as it gets. 2+ years without fixing such horrible bugs is speaking volumes.

Personally, I'm on my way out of NI land already. I will keep using Kontakt because there's some sample libraries that I want to keep using for at least a while, but I will as well try to reduce using them as much as possible.

And I have already thrown Battery out of any templates.

Hi. I've been having the same issue for years, been driving me crazy.

Since updating to L11 i've noticed that greyed out kits (not missing samples) just wipe themselves clean after a re-load.

Even if i create a new track, load a new battery and then manually re-load the same kit when i reopen that instance of battery its gone!

    screen recording here -

Y’all just need to buy XO, import Battery’s sample library into it and call it a day.

Nope, not buying the next thing behind someones stupid activation server nobody can guarantee to work long term. Just looking at XO screenshots i can already say i can't stand it. It's not a Battery substitute to me. TAL Drums is more like it but doesn't look that alluring either (yet).

"There's an update that should come at some point. Some further tests are needed for this to happen. This has been pushed back because of other priorities. So, still no new information or an estimate date."

@catch-22 You beat me to it ;)

Yes indeed, I also reached out once again to see if we can have something more tangible to share.

Wow, it's June 2024 and NI still hasn't fixed this. Battery is effectively useless in Logic. What's worse is that even if I do load in a kit successfully, the simple act of closing the plugin window and opening it again will lose all the samples (but there's a kind of "ghost" image of it all).

This is just plain dishonest. This is a fundamental, utterly basic functionality of the program that has been completely and hopelessly broken for over 2 years now. You could at least be honest and say it will never ever be fixed. Stop stringing along customers. By promising it will be fixed, you are going to waste their time because they will use Battery 4 in their projects and then be stuck with it when the only ethical thing is to tell them they should stop using Battery 4 because a fix is never coming.

sorry for the noise, but just to add the choir this is really really painful for people who trade projects back and forth. the workaround is just not reasonable, though it does work for me. simpler, this works for me:

if i add a new battery instance in my DAW project, then load the kit, then copy all the midi for each pattern into that new instance it works.

quite a burden on the user who shares a project with a collaborator
