Seems to me there is some confusion going on between aftertouch, choke groups and velocity here. They're all different things.

@Mark Oxley did you lock note repeat and go to a different device page like reverb and tried playing different pads.
for me it seems very erratic.
some pads let velocity changes through others don't and when i go back to the note repeat page all velocity changes go through.
i'm on maschine studio and maschine mk 2. maybe mk3 is different doesn't have the bugs.

All seems fine to me. Not noticing anything peculiar. Possibly it could be just affecting your hardware and not mine I guess. Only thing I've noticed with the new Maschine software update is not being able to drag samples onto pads as others have noted and NI have acknowledged. Hopefully when they release a new update to fix that it might solve your current issues too.

Yeah my guess is Maschine Studio and mk2 have other bugs than mk3 that's why your not having the same experience as me. at least here Aftertouch and Note Repeat in "Locked Mode" worked fine until 2.18.0 for me. Now it's broken

I can confirm the note repeat issue on the Maschine Studio.

Hold shift + Note Repeat while in pad mod (not keyboard mode)

Play one shot like hi hat with varying velocity.

    Results:

    No velocity is passed.

The MK3 is different because that same shift+ note repeat shortcut will engage pad mode and switch on ARP.

    Edit:

For MK3, just hit note repeat button while in pad mode and press button 2 to lock note repeat. Let go of note repeat button and trigger. Velocity response is gone.

You can do the same repro on Maschine Studio. Just hit note repeat, press button 2 to lock. Then press note repeat button again to dismiss the screen. Note repeat is now locked and velocity does not work. As stated, it only works when note repeat screen is up.

Not sure about the aftertouch. Maschine never supported it. Could be that older hardware still passed it but the sequencer did not record. I do remember it not passing AT before so not sure what the difference is.

in the manual poly aftertouch is even mentioned when using note repeat so i think it was passing it always. i remember using it a few times.
the note repeat issue is really annoying though.

When the AT worked, where you triggering from Maschine hardware or another controller?

In that case it's definitely not aftertouch you keep referring too. Maschine studio's pads don't have aftertouch. What you're referring to is almost certainly velocity response. Please Google aftertouch for a more in depth explanation.

Ok, now I'm confused. On the 1 hand it's mentioning velocity then refers to it as poly aftertouch. This isn't the same as the aftertouch I'm familiar with.

Is it possible NI themselves are confused about the differences between velocity and aftertouch?

The Aftertouch I'm familiar with is the ability to press harder on a keyboard or pad to effect stuff like filter changes, LFO values, pitch changes etc.

For example, my keyboard is both velocity sensitive and has aftertouch which are different things and produce different effects.

in my experience maschine uses the aftertouch information (Channel pressure for all who really want to know what i'm talking about) of the pressure on the pad to make the velocity for note repeat whe you change the pressure on the pad and that would make sense why my note repeat and aftertouch are not working properly on maschine studio and mk2

Velocity pressure is not the same as true aftertouch. I stand by what I said. The confusion you and I have about the 2 is largely due to how NI have described velocity sensitive pads and referring to it as poly aftertouch. In any case, aftertouch in its usual meaning is not supported in the Maschine software and never has been. Velocity sensitive pads have always been a feature and it's still working on my Maschine MK3 under the latest version of the software.
