Any update on Sonoma support - it's been 5 months since it was released.
Sonoma came out in September last year and it's almost February. I know NI have a lot of products to check, but the betas are available well before the final release - can't believe that it seems to take so long for them to support latest versions of MacOS.

can't believe that it seems to take so long for them to support latest versions of MacOS.
It's tradition here at NI.

A sad tradition, I understand a few month of delay before compliance (like with other plugin companies) but this? When NI will be ready, Apple will release next version of OS and the merry-go-round will start again. 🤣🤣🤣

NI: releases the support for Mac OS Sonoma.
Apple: Releases the brand new version at the same time.
5 years later...
NI: releases the support to that 'brand new' version.

Yes, they WILL do it again.
Plugin vendors who want to develop on Apple platform need to make peace with it and provide compatibility PROMPTLY or stop developing for Mac at all.
Approx. 50% of NI user base is on Mac…
Treating Mac as a PC, where compatibility is a given leads to pain and suffering for developers and is a path to dark side of the force 🤣

And now it's March and there's *still* no Sonoma support for Maschine 😪

Which is beyond joke. I’m done with excuses and with them, sadly.

In other threads some helpful people from NI (thanks Matthew and Jeremy!) said that Kontakt is very close, and Komplete Kontrol and Komplete effects should be around the corner as well.
But I couldn't find anything else on the web. I understand that it takes some manpower to work on the update, but I really wish the communication would be better - https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/de/articles/13671802084765-Kompatibilit%C3%A4t-von-NI-Produkten-mit-macOS-14-Sonoma Here it still says "even though the Beta is already available of Sonoma...... etc" The beta changed to release version already in October

Komplete Kontrol Sonoma support is launching in the next 24 hours.
Maschine Sonoma support is shipping to beta soon, and is expected to launch within weeks.
The same team has worked on both as a February topic.

To do things promptly is not always as easy as you'd like it to be.
Sonoma introduced a number of issues.
Some, we had to fix.
Others, we had to report to Apple and await their fix.
The former is within our control, the latter is not.
Additionally, with Maschine and Komplete Kontrol each being hosts of plug-ins, there come exponentially more variables. Breaking changes affect not only us (the host) but in many cases the content we host (e.g. 1st or 3rd party plug-ins). With thousands of plug-ins come exponentially more variables to test, develop, and consider.
So another unspoken element of official Sonoma support is helping many many partner companies understand the issues, and also help them implement fixes, and/or join our bug reports to Apple as relevant, in order to provide (once shipped) as cohesive an experience as possible.
TL:DR I consider delivering Sonoma support within two quarters of it launching to be pretty fast, all things considered. These things take time to do properly.

In my experience, evaluating betas for awareness is good, but it is bad development practice to build official support off of anything other than the final version that gets released.
Oftentimes, things change up to and beyond that final version. You can spend time doing work that gets thrown out, or changed, or worse... introduces instability as things change. These are all things I've seen happen. It's far better in the long run to wait until an official release version has shipped, so that we can test and build against that.

Matthew, I would gladly agree with you if NI was operating in a vacuum devoid from other plugin/DAW manufacturers. NI is comparably one of the slowest companies in regard of MacOS X compatibility updates. This is a fact, not a statement of opinion. 6 months is absolutely unacceptable for OS compatibility, no matter the platform.

Especially for Mac. Apple have a wonderful habit of making sudden changes in release different to beta.
2 -
Which poses absolutely no problem for other DAW and plugin manufacturers somehow. Mind boggles 🤣
