Problems with network drives

a question about the last two updates in the email was clearly problems with network drives and removable media fixed i read it 3 times extra funny enough i still can't see my nas either via the file management or via the explorer from traktor what am i doing wrong I bought myself a nas for the whole music for 1500 euros but the tractor doesn't see anything else, greetings Thorsten😏

eine frage zu den letzten zwei updates in der email stand eindeutig probleme mit netzlaufwerke und wechseldatenträger behoben ich habe es extra 3 mal gelesen witzigerweise bekomme ich meine nas immer noch nicht zu sehen weder über das file managment noch über den explorer von traktor was mache ich falsch ich habe mir etra eine nas für die ganze mucke für 1500 euronen gekauft aber pustekuchen traktor sieht nichts was auch sonst, gruss thorsten😏

with "Add" Traktor doesn't see your NAS either? it could be that you expect automatic detection like in Win-Explorer or Apple-Finder ;)

ich frag´s sicherheitshalber, denn schliesslich übersieht jeder Mensch mal was:

bei "Add" sieht Traktor dein NAS auch nicht? könnte ja sein, daß du ein automatisches Erkennen erwartest wie im Win-Explorer bzw. Apple-Finder ;)

I am a windows11 user and in windows it is integrated or recognized in explorer I really have no idea what it could be anymore I also use vdj the program recognized my nas immediately without any problems and also have my various file managers as well as win scp or free commander they are recognized immediately without any problems 😜 only traktor pro doesn’t get it somehow even pro works immediately but that’s not the point of the thing but pro doesn’t recognize my s4 mk so I would have to map all midi commands by hand but I don’t see how said the os is relatively new the controller about or years ago i don't remember exactly anymore i'm really thinking about whether i shouldn't shy away from the whole quark again and dedicate myself completely to vdj which in my opinion has the edge anyway with everyone version leap always another cheese slowly but surely I've had enough

ich bin windows11 userund bei windows ist er im explorer eingebunden bzw erkannt ich habe wirklich keine ahnung mehr woran es liegen könnte ich benutze nebenbei auch noch vdj das programm hat meine nas sofort ohne probleme erkannt und auch meine diverse filemanager sowie win scp oder free commander haben sie sofort problemlos erkannt😜nur traktor pro kriegt das irgend wie nicht hin selbst pro funktioniert sofort aber das ist ja nicht der sinn der sache aber pro erkennt meinen s4 mk nicht da müsste ich sämtliche midi befehle per hand mappen aber das sehe ich nicht ein wie gesagt das os ist relativ neu der controller ca oder jahre ich weiss nicht mehr ganz mehr genau ich bin schon wirklich am überlegen ob ich den ganzen quark nicht wieder verscheuer und mich mal voll und ganz vdj widme was meinem ermessen sowieso die nase vorne hat mit jedem versions sprung immer wieder ein anderer käse so langsam langt mir das wirklich

so jetzt habe ich es geschaft endlich mal zu antworten ich bin den ganzen tag im stress also ich benutze ganz normal windows11 mit explorer und als controller benutze ich den traktor control s4 mk3 und mit dem ist alles im grünen bereich der funktioniert wie er soll nur traktor 3 eben nicht das zickt herum wie bisher das witzige an der geschichte ist mit traktor2 pro funktioniert es wie es soll das verstehe ich nicht ich habe jetzt eine andere lösung für mich gefunden ich mache alles wie gewohnt analysen usw und importiere die collection nach pro 3 nachteil ist sämtliche einstellungen von pro 3 erden überschrieben und umgekrhrt pro 3 überschreibt alles von pro 2 deswegen meine frage nach der zweiten collection

And have you mapped NAS in Win as a disc? If not it behaves as computer on network, not as disc.

It may be that Traktor does not handle LAN storage if not mapped as disc....

If you have mapped NAS as disc (something like E:, F:, ....., Z:) and Traktor does not see it, it may be blocked. It is so in Maschine (because of performance reasons).

I may try it with my NAS.

Just curious, why NAS and not just external disc? NAS does not seem to be very practical to carry.

Closing VDJ before starting Traktor should help :)

Since it is Windows PC, it could be the port limitation in there.

I am sorry to say that, but i can't understand why anyone would use network drives for a DJ program, there is no benefit on this, just a lot of disadvantages.

However, technically you can do it. It is very easy, as long as you add the Network paths to Traktor. As you can see in my example below, Traktor do recognize network paths. So your problem is not the Traktor but something in your Network configuration. Or, you just forgot to add the paths to Traktor. :-)

Map your music folder as a "network drive" and it works flawlessly. Have my whole collection in there at home. Mine is an Unraid server but the principle is the same.
