Running a MacStudio Ultra M2 with a clean system Mac OS 27.0.1 Golden Gate I installed the latest version Native Access 3.26.0 (49cfefc / 1.32.0.0).
I wanted a native Apple Silicon running system so I left the "show legacy versions" switch in "Off" mode hoping all Silicon compatible modules were shown and installed, then selecting install all I run into the known problems with some instruments of not willing to install.
The following steps were taken by me:
- Went to "System settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "Full Disk Access" and added and switch on permission for: Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt 8, Maschine 3, Native Access, NTKDaemon, NIHardwareAgent. and restart the system and no success.
- Following step "System settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "FileVault" in "Off" mode. This was no help, do not forget to turn it back on.
- Checked "Read & Write" permission on the "Shared" folder and the enclosed items of this folder, all set, No success.
- By closing Native Access again I went to: "HD→Users→Shared folder, there I named the "Native Instruments" folder "Native Instruments.no" and restarted "Native Access" a new clean folder was build up so that was good yet no success.
- Then: by pressing in the "Finder" the following short keys "Cmd + Shift + G" in the popup window I looked for the following file path: "/Library/LaunchDaemons/" and found the following file that I deleted: "com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper2.plist" no result.
- The last option for me was to go online to my Native Instruments Account and manually download the by Native Access non installable files and manually install them, this is were the answer was hiding why even this was not working, by selecting the latest version of each file that had problems with installing with Native Access, the manual installation came back with a more clear warning why it could not install the files on this Mac, the file I was installing was ment for a Intel Mac and was not Silicon supported, I found the following on the web:
Installer Metadata Bug: Some Native Instruments universal binary installers carry incorrect metadata that forces macOS to treat them as Intel binaries rather than native Apple Silicon code.
According to the web Native Instruments is busy working on this problem.
The files with me that are not support are:
Creator Tools v1.5.2
FM8 v1.4.6+3
Previews
Super 8 v1.0.0.5
I'm looking forward to have a complete Silicon approved workflow, I'm leaving Rosetta 2 behind me not to run emulations in the background.
