I have a Mac with an Intel 5 processor that crashed on me during a live set while using Traktor 2. I’ve now bought a new Mac M5 because the other one couldn’t be fixed—or so I’ve been told.

From what I can see then Traktor Pro 2 is not supported on neither any newer Mac OS or on Apple Silicon and if you are referring to Traktor 2 DJ then I think that it is almost the same (?) . Ref. : Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS

If you want to update to Traktor Pro 4 then you will have to pay the upgrade cost unless you buy a new NI Traktor controller in which case you most likely would get TP4 for free with the new device.

Also prior to doing any purchase of a Traktor Pro 4 update then please check that the device you have now (your controller can be used with Traktor Pro 4.

I haven't tested but maybe a virtual machine can help install TP2 on Mojave or older.
