I'm getting a persistent error when trying to update the Hardware Connection Service in Native Access:
"Installation Failed: You may need to grant full disk access to Native Access and the daemon."
Hardware involved: Komplete Kontrol S61 MK3, also using Kontakt 7 and Kontakt 8 on this machine.
What I've already tried, with no change in the outcome:
- Granted Full Disk Access to Native Access, NTKDaemon, and NIHardwareConnectionService in System Settings.
- Fully uninstalled and reinstalled Native Access (clean install, cache/prefs cleared).
- Manually cleared the stale NTKDaemon component - this fixed a separate confirmed issue (old daemon reporting "incompatible protocol version 5.0.0, supported 2.3.0" in its logs). NTKDaemon is now correctly updated to v1.31.1.
- Manually cleared the stale Hardware Connection Service component too, since its own log showed: "IPC: instance_hello - API version mismatch, client version 2.1.0, server version 1.0.0".
- Full restart of the Mac, then Repair + Reinstall from within Native Access.
Current state: after clearing the old Hardware Connection Service folder, Native Access never recreates it at all, even after the full reboot + repair + reinstall cycle. Unlike the NTKDaemon fix (which did prompt for my admin password), this component never prompts for admin authorization - it seems to fail before even attempting a privileged install step. No "permission denied" errors appear anywhere in the system logs.
My Komplete Kontrol S61 MK3 still works fine day-to-day despite this pending update, so it's not blocking my work, but I'd like to get it resolved.
