Traktor pro 4 License key

Hi, i bought 02-Oct-2024 a Traktor S4MK3 controller via traktor Traktor pro key. Yesterday i bought a new second macbook pro m5 16GB and to try the Traktor Pro 4 software. At registration i checked there is only a traktor pro 3 key and no pro4 key. Native said all versions after june 2024 has only traktor pro 4 keys

i used before on my macbook pro m1 chip 16GB the Upgrade key Traktor 2 to 3 on 2021

can someone help me??

Check on your account what licenses that you have, If you have paid for a license and it is not there then please contact N.I. Support . Also please notice that when you contact NI support then you will receive an AI auto-response and it is important that you answer this response to let NI know that you still need their assistance. This is also valid in general , if you have a support ticket with NI then always respond to their emails as long as that you still need help , else the ticket will close.

If you bought a controller and expects it to come with a certain license then it is possible that if is made after a certain date then it will come with a newer version of base software however then as pointed out by VocalPoint then that does not necessarily mean that models made before that date but sold after also gets the newer software versions.

Also then usually then NI does not give free upgrades from Traktor Pro 3 to Traktor Pro 4 so unless that you paid for Traktor Pro 4 or an upgrade to TP4 or you have a device that is made after the date where the devices started coming with newer software versions then you should not expect the software license to be on your account.

Also with respect to software and Native Access then N.A. usually do not show any software that is not compatible with your OS.

Not exactly sure what this means - but it sounds like you will need to purchase the upgrade.

If you had a V4 license with your hardware - you would see that in your account.

Also note - just because you purchased your actual Traktor S4MK3 controller in Oct 2024 - that box may have been out there on the shelf for 9 months previous. Or - maybe you missed some communication from NI in Fall 2024 to turn your v3 into a v4 license

I would get a ticket into Ni support and see what they say.

Back in June 2024, Native announced that the NI Traktor S4 MK3 would only include a license key for Traktor Pro; however, it is possible that the box contains a Traktor Pro 3 key and that Native upgrades it to Pro 4 if I purchased my controller after June 2024.

Reading this - just as you typed it - makes it sound (to me anyways) that anyone purchasing a controller PRIOR to June 2024 - might not get a Traktor license at all.

But your statement seems to make it sound like "Hey there Mr. DJ - if you are thinking about this controller - good news! A Traktor license is now included"

The statement does not specify "what" license was included - just that "a" license key was included. And unless you can produce the ad copy where you saw this back in June 2024 - there is really no way to know. Maybe even support might not even know.

Also - Traktor 4 wasn't released until July 17, 2024 - so your "June" timeframe seems a little off - considering the software wasn't even available yet.

Hi, thanks for the reply, but the issue was actually on Native Instruments' end. According to its serial number, my controller was manufactured before June 2024 and had been sitting in stock. However, I didn't buy it until autumn 2024—meaning it came with a Traktor Pro 4 license—so Native Instruments resolved the error and provided me with a license key for Traktor Pro 4.
