Is there any little gel pads that you can buy and put on the Machine Mk3 pads to make them silent? That's the only gripe I got with Machine, is the noisy pad hits.
I don't know if this 'sensitivity' kit also influence use sound level (?) Else then perhaps this seller will know if there is anything to be had ?

Hmm.. 🤔 that's good, but I'm thinking more of a thin clear slice of firm gel (one square per pad). Just to take the edge off for that pad hit. Even with headphones I hear the sound but also the finger hitting the pad. It bugs me.
Perhaps what you need is something like this if you can find them single sided and right thickness with non sticky upper side ? Or alternatively some kind of single sided clear gel tape ? Most of this silicon stuff is dual side sticky….
Yes, something like those clear squares. Too scared to be putting potentially damaging gels on my brand new machine, so was hoping someone else has done this already.
Ok I got some clear one sided furniture pads on order (not the ones you linked but those could work too I think). I will let you know how it goes. Wish me luck! 😀
Good luck 🙂 I think it might be hard to find the right firmness with no sticky upper side and right thickness. But it is great that you picked something yourself since you are the one that knows best what fits your purpose and you are also the one having to do the actual product evaluation when what you ordered arrives 🙂 There were a lot of gel products with dual sticky sides that I suspected might have been great but of no use here with a sticky upper side…
Er… MK3 Pads roughly 3cm tall, give or take, each pad is a huge chunk of silicone/rubber… if thats not enought to dampen sound it's not a thin piece of gel that will make a diference, but you never know. Report back if it works.
Things are pretty tight inside the unit, so i wouldnt go putting anything thicker then say, 1 or 2 normal pieces of paper in there unless things are loose… in that case it might help a lot (if the noise is rattling). Maybe on the underside beneath the pad assembly would be a good ideia to put foam, people do that in mechanical keyboards for dampening.
Keep in mind more material in there can mean more pressure between sensor sheet and PCB contacts which is what is used to measure (eletrical contact) and activate pads, too much pressure and the pads will always be on or act wierd, also possibly wear out the grafite sheet faster…
