Help, bought 2nd hand Maschine Mikro from Vinted

Hi all,

I bought a 2nd hand Maschine Mikro from Vinted, and had no idea the trouble I was about to walk into…

I asked the guy I bought it from to transfer over the serial number so I could use it, but he no idea what I was on about and said he bouvht it but hadn't got around to using it.

I read on a forum that if I send proof of purchase and a picture of the number on the sticker on the back of my maschine that NI would/should help me and send me a reg number. They didn't.

Customer services told me that if I buy the latest version on Maschine, I could use my mikro with the software without needing a serial number. I followed the link that customer service provided, which took me to maschine 3 update from maschine 2 for £35. So I bought it. It downloaded fine, but says demo in Native Access 2, and when I open Maschine 3, it only gives me a demo option/buy (with a link to a maschine groovebox for 500odd quid) and open Native Access.

I contacted customer service again, the bot suggested I click a link to common remdies ie delete brokem xlm files, delete an NI folder etc. I tried these to no avail. I returned to customer service, explained the whole thing, only to be sent the same answer to my question again 🫩 so here I am. I've read a few people suggesting that I've only bought an update, and as I didn't have a wprking key with maschine 2 previously the update to 3 is no use. If this is true, why did customer services not explain this, they categorically said if I buy maschine 3, which I did, I could use it without a key!

Please notice that when you contact NI support then you will receive an AI auto-response and it is important that you answer this response to let NI know that you still need their assistance. This is also valid in general , if you have a support ticket with NI then always respond to their emails as long as that you still need help , else the ticket will close.

Thanks for your response, VP. It has 'Maschine 3' under the 'Not Registered section'. Does this mean that the product that the customer service bot advised me to buy, is not actually what I needed?

When did you make the first ticket ? It might take a couple of workdays to get an answer after you responding and confirming that you still need help ?

Hello,

you need the full version not the "update only" version but now you know it I guess the Link from the. bot was correcly but unfortunately you should have selected the full version. That's why it's always best practice to be logged in if you buy something from native - and the website clearly states it - so next time you know that too. Maybe @Jeremy_NI can have a look and help you. But you need to wait a few days in germany all is closed including to next monday. I hope you'll get it all sorted some way.

About which Maschine Mikro are we talking? Only Mk3 is supported with Maschine 3 software. You cannot buy Maschine 2 software anymore.
