Hi everyone,
I am currently using a Surface Pro 11 with Snapdragon X Elite, 16 GB RAM, running Windows 11 on ARM. I am trying to use it with Traktor Pro 3 and a Traktor Kontrol S5.
I understand that Windows on ARM is not officially supported at the moment, but I would like to ask about the current situation and possible workarounds.
My current issues are:
- The Kontrol S5 audio driver does not properly recognize the device.
MIDI control seems to work, so Traktor can receive input from the S5 and the controls respond, but the S5 displays do not work and the device is not recognized correctly as an audio interface. - Traktor Pro 3 itself can launch and I can mix normally for a while.
However, after a random amount of time, Traktor crashes. This most often happens when I load a new track into one of the decks.
This warning persist if i have already plugged in.
Traktor Pro 3 interface.
So I have two main questions:
- Is there any roadmap or estimated timeline for proper Windows on ARM support for Traktor Pro and Native Instruments hardware drivers, especially the Kontrol S5 audio driver?
- Has anyone found a stable workaround to reduce or avoid these crashes when running Traktor Pro 3 through the Windows x64 translation layer on Snapdragon / ARM-based Windows devices?
I know this is not an officially supported setup yet, but Windows on ARM devices are becoming more common, and other audio software companies seem to be moving toward ARM-native Windows support. It would be very helpful to know whether Native Instruments is considering this for Traktor and legacy controllers such as the Kontrol S5.
Any information from NI staff or experience from other users would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
