Using Kontrol S88N Dialls / Knobs to record NI instrument effects/changes in Machine 3

Probably me being stupid but I have searched YouTube and forums and cannot find an answer

So I use Maschine MK3 HW & have a Kontrol S88 MK3 and latest version of Maschine SW

If I load a NI Instrument in Maschine Software - example "Mysteria - A Dream"
When I record on the Maschine MK3 - and use the MK3 HW dials to change as an example the X Blend and Y Blend - it records the changes (with auto turned on in the Maschine HW)

The instrument shows up on my Kontrol S88 and I am able to change the X Blend and Y Blend on the Kontrol S88 - but it does not record the changes in the Maschine recording

Please any ideas?

Hello,

that´s unfortunately one of those mysteries you wish they where not there. Native don´t want you to record automation from 3rd party controllers (fine) but somehow has not found a way, after all this years, to exclude their own keyboards from that exclusion. For me this is not a big problem cause i´m not a keyboard player but if you are working more from the keyboard i can imagine it can kill the workflow. I guess native thinks keyboard players focus more on komplete kontrol within a daw. But on the other hand they implemented stuff for the mk3 keyboards and maschine afterwards.
