How to get into QML Mod development

This is a guide I generated by letting Claude AI review various mods and forum threads with some hand-holding to make it hopefully useful for both humans and also AI agents. So that both humans and AI agents can create, tweak, and maintain QML mods for Traktor users.

Feedback and contributions are very welcome.
Also note, I am sure there are mistakes and hallucinations hidden in this guide that will hopefully get fixed over time.

I just released a major update to the handbook:
Major restructuring of the Traktor QML Handbook. Removed centralized practical examples in favor of a documentation-driven approach where mod authors provide features through remix-able markdown files. Expanded API reference with advanced patterns and settings/state management guidance.

Based on you 'old' handbook given to Claude Code it's been able to add and modify bunch of features for MX2. From 4 decks control, FX soft takovers (X1), stem FX control, hotcues types … without much effort or issues .. clean and stable code.

Will try your new handbook with the next feature … thank you for you creating this handbook/documentation.

If you haven’t check it out, I have also created a command line tool called “traktor-mod” which helps with installing mods (optionally with symlink and a HTTP based debugger). I also recently discovered that when one starts Traktor Pro via the Terminal, it provides a lot of useful error messages. Its all documented in the handbook already.
