Content/Kits/Libraries RANDOMLY missing from Battery 4, Kontakt, Massive X etc.

One second everything was working normally and the very next, kits and libraries went randomly missing from all of NI products such as Battery 4, Kontakt, and Massive X.

Nothing was done and nothing changed in between it working normally and then content randomly missing. I have tried everything from things I have found online to completely uninstalling for example Battery 4 and then reinstalling. Support has been no help and currently, my entire Komplete is unusable.

Content is still there on my external SSDs and if I pull up a Logic session, the existing midi tracks and midi data that were created before this issue with those missing libraries/kits/presets will still trigger and make the proper sound. But if I go to Battery 4, only a few kits are available. Same with Massive X - only a handful of presets are available. In Kontakt, all the libraries I own show up there but no content - does not matter which one I click on nothing changes on the right hand side where you would usually choose a preset. It is stuck on a few presets that are showing up there on the right side and never change.

I really need a fix for this situation badly and I cannot get any help from support. Has anyone else dealt with this and fixed it?

Also- nothing in Native Access is needing to be repaired or relocated or any of that. All paths are proper and in order.

Should have mentioned that yes, NI/Native Access and Daemon have full disk access.

Can you screencap some of what you are seeing?

Does your Mac reference the external drive letter or ID in the same way it did a week ago? Drive letter change? Drive falling asleep? Any other things you can tell us about the drive?

Has the OS being updated - either with or without your knowledge? Was Logic updated?

Having massive amounts if libraries simply lose their session references - indicates either an unplanned redirect, a file issue/pathing problem. Or even an actual hardware issue.

Thank you for your comment and questions - My Mac OS was not updated without my doing I have to manually update that. Logic is the same - not updated and need to do it manually. I have tried to open up Pro Tools as well and Battery 4 for example still missing all those kits. When I first started having this issue it was exclusively Battery 4. I found a workaround going to the user/library and deleting the battery 4 folder and then opening the standalone and most of the kits would repopulate (some still never came back). At that time I did update my Mac OS to where it is now, 15.7.2, did not fix the issue but also did not create any issues. Went on to use my limited Battery content and the issue would happen again and I would do the same thing - delete that folder open standalone and repopulate. Now, all of a sudden, not only does that limited workaround "fix" not even work for Battery 4 but my content for Massive X and Kontakt Libraries have gone missing as well.

Now on the hard drive side of things, I want to say nothing has changed - forgive my ignorance but can you guide me on how I can maybe check that? I have an OWC Elektron 2TB SSD that my NI stuff is on - formatted APFS. If i go into that drive- the content is in there.

Would be much better to see a screencap of the errors you are seeing for Battery, Kontakt etc and the paths etc within Native Access (Specifically what is going on under Prefs→File Locations)

The image that shows studio drive 1 is what I had it as when I first downloaded everything- the other one is the default which is where it is right now because I had to go back to the default to download some CineSample libraries because they would not download to the external (found this solution online as a known issue with NI/Mac os/Externals and then I dragged that CineSample content to the Studio drive 1 and repaired and then it worked) -so since then I have had it set at default but have not had any new content since either.

Here are some pics showing the VST side of this - I have videos that show my clicking on the various Kontakt libraries and nothing changing on the right hand side but it won't let me post videos- so I just have an example of me clicking on Grandeur Piano for that one. Massive X and Battery 4 are on all- that is all that is showing up on those two.

My first test would be to revert that content path back to the way it was originally and test:

This is a significant change and should have been changed back after that CineSample bypass.

I just set it back to that location - restarted my computer- still no luck. Battery started doing this before my CineSample bypass. At the time it was exclusively happening with Battery and now with everything else.

@Ike Sav I've got a couple of questions.

If you reinstall the Battery Factory Library to the default location: Mac HD > Users > Shared and leve it there, then reset Battery 4's database:

Reinitialize the Battery Database

Note: The User Library folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden macOS folders.
Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Battery 4 folder.
Delete only the Battery 4 folder found here

Open Battery 4 in standalone, can you find all the kits now?

If this works, it probably means there is something wrong with the harddrive,

I see the name of the drive is Studio Drive 1, was the number 1 part of the original name you chose or it appeared later on? We've seen this kind of issues on Mac drives:

A mismatch between hard rive name and mount point can be caused by by various things (connecting multiple drives with the same name, error when trying to eject the external hd resulting in a left behind ghost drive,...)Sometimes iit is enough to carry out the following steps:

safely eject the external hd
unplug the external hd
shut down your computer
start up your computer
plug the external hd back in after waiting at least one or two minutes after your computer finishes booting up

Then please open the Disk Utility and check if hd name matches the mount point or if the mount point still has a number added.The following thread explains the details and how you can fix it in case the steps above did not resolve the issue:
