No , you can definitely setup midi too , in that video , they show setting up midi , and setting up audio , for if you want to run the synths audio into maschine and use its fx and also sample

Basically you hook up a midi cable from maschine midi out to the synths midi in and vice versa

Go to the sound slot , go to the channel setting , select midi out , set the port and channel and then do the same for channel / midi in , if you want to record from the synth

Then repeat for each sound you want depending on how many midi channels you have

You may need to activate the midi ports in the machine settings, you may also need to setup the arturia keyboard so it sends / receives midi

USB may work , if the arturia is class compliant, the microfreak in that video looks like it’s connected via usb , as its name shows up in the settings

if it is you can bypass the midi cable , again you may need to activate the port in the maschine settings , so that it’s available in the channel midi settings

in that video , from 1min he shows turning on the midi ports, then he goes to the channel settings , but for input , he only does the audio , after that he goes to the output settings and clicks over twice to get to the midi settings (@2.40min )

If you want midi input too , when you are on the input page , click over from audio to the midi setting

looking at the manual for the astrolab

You have different kinds of preset,

single , that uses 1 sound and one midi channel

Multi that uses 2 sounds and may have the option to use 2 midi channels

For the organ it says this

Important note about the B-3 V organ: When using B-3 V based Presets, the upper keyboard will respond to MIDI channel 1 only, lower keyboard to channel 2 only, and bass pedals to channel 3 only (here with only the lowest octave available for playing). If you set MIDI channels in any other way, the B-3 V won't produce any sound.

So really it depends on the preset , and my original answer is misleading , because I thought the astrolab had more multi timbral capabilities

it looks as if you have 3 parts (3 midi channel) for organ

1 part , and 1 midi channel for normal presets and 2 parts for a multi preset , so maybe 2 midi channels for a multi is possible ,

so you could split a multi or organ preset across the maschine sounds/group
