Loops more than 32

Hi people,

im using Traktor now for about a year id say.

the only thing that annoys me so far is that the loops are limited to 32… why not 64 or even 128 like other softwares do?

is it difficult to update?

im a newbie in all of this, nevertheless id appreciate in some occasions to be able to do longer loops than what traktor allows me (32)

Although the default loop sizes only go from 1/32th (1/64 using the mouse) to 32 beats, you can set and adjust the size with some convoluted steps, some of which i tried to compress to a smaller number of steps in the community mod for the S4.

There are basically two approaches, which can be combined.

1. Use the LoopIN and LoopOUT buttons to manually set the size on the track's timeline, eyeballing and/or counting the beats in your head.
2. Once a loop is set, you can MOVE either the LoopIN position or the LoopOUT position by a variable amount, from 1/64th to 32 beats in one go, to the left or right. If you select 'LOOP' as the amount, the value used is the current loop size.

Using one of these methods, your loop can theoretically reach to the end of the track or beyond. If the loop size goes beyond the bounds of variable as set by the code, you can force a crash of Traktor, as i discovered a few years back. But the safe number is really big.

These options are available in the extended advanced panel of every track deck or stem deck, in the MOVE subsection. You can also map each of those commands to one or more buttons/keys in the controller manager, which is the only way to do it for remix decks.

It has custom screen feedback for variable loops to help you out as well and provides controls for both methods described above.
