I’m running into a reproducible issue with Kontakt 8 + Circular in Maschine 3 that I haven’t seen clearly answered elsewhere.
System:
- Maschine 3.4.1
- Kontakt 8.8.0 (VST3)
- Circular 1.5.1
- MacBook Air 15", M4 (2025)
- macOS Tahoe 26.0.1
- iZotope Neutron 5.5.1
- iZotope Ozone 12 Advanced (12.1.0)
Issue:
While mixing, I used Neutron 5 and Ozone 12 on the master channel. After this, Circular’s audio became corrupted (buzzing/distorted, incorrect sound).
Removing iZotope plugins does not fix the issue.
I attempted to reset Circular using Kontakt’s Purge functions, but:
- Purge All Samples on a single Circular instance fails
- Purge All Samples across all instances fails
- Purge state remains “red” / inactive
- Playing through the project once or multiple times does not cause samples to reload
- Corrupted sound persists
Expectation:
Based on Kontakt documentation, purging should allow samples to reload cleanly after playback. That never happens here.
Questions:
- Is there a known issue with Kontakt 8 purge behavior in Maschine 3 on Apple Silicon, especially on macOS Tahoe?
- Are Circular (generative / round robin) instruments expected to behave differently with Purge, or should purge still work per instance?
- Is there a documented interaction or known risk when using iZotope Neutron/Ozone with Kontakt instruments in Maschine that could lead to persistent corruption?
- What is the correct way to fully reset a Kontakt 8 instrument in Maschine so samples are reloaded from disk?
This is blocking multiple projects, and purge currently provides no recovery path. Thanks in advance!
