How to send transport messages to Maschine from Live

I have Maschine 3 running as a plugin in Abelton Live 12. Is there any way I can I can force Maschine to start playback from the beginning of the measure, independent of where I'm at in the arrangement in Ableton?

Asking because sometimes I like to start a new measure "off grid," and I want Maschine to start playback from the 1. This is hard for me to explain- hoping the screencap adds context.

Yes, you can.

Maschine: Enable MIDI Change, select if you want to control Scenes or Sections and pick a MIDI Channel.
Maschine: Enable "Retrigger" in Maschine's Sync options in the top bar so the Scenes/Sections are triggered to start from the beginning.
Ableton: Create a MIDI Track and make sure it's sending MIDI to the Maschine Plugin using the right channel.
Ableton: On the MIDI Track just have notes from C-2 and up to trigger Scenes/Sections.
Done ✅

You might have to offset the MIDI Notes to begin slightly ahead of time depending on the time division you pick for sync, if any.

If you need to trigger silence, just make an empty Scene/Section (maybe for that bit after the break you got?)

If you ever wish to record Scenes/Section changes from the Maschine Controller you have to enable the MIDI Track to also Receive MIDI from Maschine-Plug.

No luck yet. I feel like it's something in my Maschine/Settings/MIDI- which I can only get to in standalone mode. I feel like input device should be Ableton or external MIDI but the only choices I have are: Maschine MK3 (Maschine MK3), Maschine MK3 Virtual Input, and Maschine 3 Virtual Input. Any ideas?

Humm it can't be, setting up Sound/Group MIDI Input is not required for MIDI Change, you're not using MIDI to control Pads nor Groups.

Try this test project, see if it's triggering the changes.

No need to reverse engineer, it´s just 3 steps. You must be missing something simple like using the right notes, or midi channel on the Ableton MIDI Track.
