Ozone 12 Upgrade Policy — Grace Period Too Short?

I upgraded to Ozone 11 Advanced two weeks ago for $199, and just days later Ozone 12 was released. iZotope told me their grace period is only 1 week, meaning I’d need to pay another $199—almost the price of a full license—to stay current.😡

Most companies in our industry offer 30–60 day grace periods, so this feels unusually short and unfair to loyal customers. I think extending the window would go a long way toward keeping trust and goodwill.

Has anyone else here been affected by this?

Never heard of a grace period window that short but if it is - it is .

A better question is - you just bought Ozone 11 two weeks ago - is there an
any specific reason why this version is suddenly ready for the scrap heap just because a new version appeared?

Personally then I think that one week is a rather short 'grace period', but as VP notes then "if it is - it is".

I do however know that sometimes the result of ones approach to customer service also depends of the manner of the approach so without knowing your 'approach' then I still know that at least sometimes the approach has been a problem with respect to the outcome.

Another thing is that I get the impression that policies are made to handle the must be many that buy stuff before sales and then finds out later that there is a sale going on and N.I. has to set the limit somewhere. With respect to sales then usually what has been written is 'very close' to whenever to benefit also of whatever price reduction.

If one have a problem then the best approach is to send a polite inquiry to N.I. Support (all) and then hope for the best and stay polite even if the outcome is not what you want. Sometimes then forum Customer Care (@Jeremy_NI) can either help or at least explain better , what is the case in this/your situation I couldn't say but Jeremy_NI will not be here before Monday or later.

There are a couple of nice features added in 12. It would be great to have, and of course i would have waited 2 weeks if I knew 12 was coming out. I don't pay a lot of attention to the Izotope release schedule, so I don't know if there's any predictability to it. One post i read noted that often a new release will follow a big sale. But the upgrade of Ozone 11 I bought was definitely regular price - same as the upgrade to 12 is.

Izotope is very predictable. Ozone always drops a new version in early September - every two years - like clockwork.

There will be other sales for sure - but Ozone 11 and 12 are too close in tech to be worried about it.

Spend some time getting really good in v11 and keep your eyes peeled - especially around Black Friday.
