I purchased used MK1 - Already registered. Can't find previous owner - Can't Activate - Please help

i have a used MK1 in really great shape. it was at garage sale so no previous owner found. i have original CD with Serial # on case. i installed the original MK1 software and unit is working but only in Demo mode. i cannot activate because it's already registered. Can't get in touch with previous owner and NI support is only "CHAT" and doesn't offer much help. I end up downloading MK2 software and it does work but it still only works in demo mode and ask me to activate. Is there any way i can get this resolved so i can have full access to the software? or am i stuck

NI support is only "CHAT" and doesn't offer much help. I end up downloading MK2 software and it does work but it still only works in demo mode and ask me to activate. Is there any way i can get this resolved so i can have full access to the software? or am i stuck

There is no phone support and you can not initiate support by writing an email address. For initiating support then you need to use the support web interface.

Only NI Support can answer that for you.

Do remember that buying a used product from a garage sale with no standard transfer process (which is certainly not your fault) but totally bypasses NI and any chance whatsoever of a sale is not exactly what I would call "advantageous" to your situation.

At it's most basic - you are asking for support for a product that you did not actually buy from NI.

Temper your expectations is the best suggestion I could offer.

It is goes your way - cool. If it doesn't - be good with that too.

Thank you for your reply..i did go back to that house i purchased from and it turns out it was the son who lived there at one time and they got in touch with him….Ok great news…he does remember registering some time ago, he logged on, reset his password and requested a License Transfer….Now were's waiting for NI to contact him for further instructions…i hope that was the correct option….License transfer right?..Here's his comment in part……………………………………i had to request a transfer of items related to maschine and the support team is going to approve it and give me a transer ID…Once i get that ID, i will send it to you and you should be able to register it in your own name…..Is this correct?

Yes. This is the way.

Once NI Support processes the transfer - you should be good to go.

hey I also need to get a license transfer for my Maschine MK2. The guy i bought it from got it from a garage sale. Any advice?

Without access to the original owner (and that all important transfer ID) - not sure there is anything positive for you.
