Regarding the installation of chamber strings

I installed chamber strings from Spitfire Audio and entered the serial code in Native Access.

Normally, “Install” or ‘Locate’ should be displayed for that product, but “Add product” is displayed instead.

Why is that?

Also, when I click “Add product,” a folder selection screen appears, but if I want to move it to an external SSD, should I specify it at this point? An error is displayed even when I select the SSD.

Not all third-party software can be installed via Native Access and so you will see "Add product" instead - which is basically "Locate".

You should choose the folder of Chamber Strings when using that option. So, if you want to move the library to an external SSD, do that first and then use "Add product" afterwards.

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

You should move the library to the desired location first, then locate it with the Add Product feature.

Generally speaking you need to use the Spitfire Audio app from Spitfire Audio to do your downloads. In that app you select "Settings" and specify your default content path and the VST3 install location. The process, as I remember is, it first downloads all the things it will need to install, then it goes through it's own process of actually installing it in the content path. Once that's finished you add the Serial Code into Native Access and then follow the same pattern you would for Locating an already installed instrument which then puts all the links in place in Native Access so it's enabled and active.

Remember to read the product descriptions for your library on the Spitfire Audio web site. Not all of their instruments are NKS compatible and some run in their own Spitfire handler in your DAW.
