Hi, I bought Macshine + from gumtree, seller said it was a standalone device loaded, got home, tried to register, buyer said he got it from someone else, so no go in trying to get whatever transfer initiated. What a brilliant way to lose custom, as this is my first NI device, I'm far from impressed… I got as far with support, as a loop, where it says I can buy software, BUT I want my device registered to me, so I can use it as intended, black screens are no use to me…?

How would one register Mashine+ to ACTIVATE it, will the software I'm offered ACTIVATE the device or not?

If not, what steps should I take that would entice me as a new customer, to turn this thing ON?

There is a system reset, which should take you back to square one, where it asks you to register it.

Really sorry, but I already exhausted myself with the chatbot telling me that I need to buy software, I will not buy software unless it gets me passed the reg screen on the device, and the chatbot just goes back to offering software instead of suggesting 'x' software will get me passed the stupid register screen on the device. Seems your 'transfer' policy is costing you new customers who never used NI before.

Please inform me of what the software the chatbot is NOT suggesting, is for, will it get me passed the register screen on the device or not?

In the meantime I will try your link only to find, i expect, the same loop. Thanks for your efforts so far ;)

The system reset created the problem, I cannot get past the registration so the device is crippled, I am trying to register it to me to un-cripple it

I think the issue here is that the unit must be un-registered from the previous owners. This can't be done by the new owner by himself, only support can.

Well, I got a ticket Re: Registration of device. I think I'll just un-install all my native instruments products now, since I would'nt use any of them in my synth studio, the last thing I need is a synth crippled because of registration in such a way, the only way to use it is via software… no thanks.

This is the first synth I have bought, made by NI, and already I'm put off, Registration problems? No thanks. In the meantime buy maschine 3. No thanks, I tried the software, which wont register the device to NEW user.

Neither will the Native Access 2 route. I downloaded all these glorified noises to my computer thinking they were going onto the device, but nope, they are all in my computer.

This is only the confirmation of your support request. As I said, my colleagues will get back to you.

The problem here, it seems is that the previous owner did not transfer the licences accordingly. This is the seller's responsibility. My colleagues should be able to resolve the issue.

I notice you claim my question is answered, when in my opinion it is not: get support, to type to a chatbot, to get a ticket, when all I want to do, is make music, not wait for email? I mean, here is a new customer. I've honestly spent 5 grand in last month in synth hardware. After reading the nightmare system folks have to jump through just to buy or sell their hardware, I realise why the second hand shops are full of square pads haha… where is my registration email?

I can leave it unanswered if you wish but the solution here is to contact our support. It requires access to private data and we can't do it on the forum. The solution for anyone with such an issue is to contact our support where my colleagues have all the necessary tools and access to your account and the previous owners accounts and contact. That is why I chose it as an answer so other users see that's the way to go.

And again, the licence transfer can be automatic when the seller does it right, which they didn't.

Please update the thread when the issue is resolved then.

Well, I know patience well enough to uninstall all native instruments from my computer for now, I've unplugged my device (did'nt forget to change my wifi password) and resigned myself to waiting, glad I never bought the software offered by the bot, whatever that software was…
